Kamal Adwan: Israel is Determined to ‘Kill’ This Hospital

The Israeli occupation army is determined to close down the Kamal Adwan Hospital. They have planted barrel bombs among Palestinian homes around the only remaining medical facility in the north of the Gaza Strip.

An Israeli quadcopter has targeted the hospital with more than 10 deadly bombs with the military strikes becoming so bad that electricity was cut off as a result of bombing the generator of the hospital.

Director of Kamal Adwan Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya said that the hospital’s buildings, yard, and vicinity have been targeted since Monday, killing at least five civilians and injuring 29.

Dr. Munir Al-Bursh, Director-General of Palestine’s Ministry of Health in Gaza, reported that Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza lost power after Israeli occupation forces directly targeted its generators with a bomb dropped from a quadcopter drone.

Meanwhile Israeli snipers targeted the intensive care unit (ICU) at Kamal Adwan Hospital for the first time, according to Dr. Abu Safiyyah said. The attack shattered all the ICU windows and created a deadly environment for patients and staff.

“Snipers are stationed in elevated positions,” Dr. Abu Safiyyah explained. “Anyone moving inside the hospital wings risks getting shot,” marking a dangerous escalation in the ongoing bombardment of the hospital.

From Monday forward, relentless Israeli strikes targeted the Hospital and its surroundings making it impossible for medics to operate safely whilst disabling three of the hospital’s four ambulances and injuring two paramedics.

“We now treat some patients in the hospital corridors,” Dr. Abu Safiyyah said. The strikes have destroyed critical infrastructure, including electricity, water supplies, and oxygen systems. Repair efforts are impossible under continued targeting, leaving the hospital on the brink of collapse.

The hospital director called for urgent international intervention. “We need immediate protection for the health system and its workers. So far, no one has stepped in to help or condemned these attacks,” he added.

The Kamal Adwan Hospital, which serves women and children, faces life-threatening conditions for its staff and patients amid silence from global powers. Dr. Abu Safiyyah questioned the world’s inaction, saying: “What crime has this hospital committed while offering humanitarian services?”

The situation grows worse every hour as essential medical operations falter. Without swift action, the hospital may face complete devastation.

During its ongoing genocidal war on Gaza, Israel has targeted hospitals and medical staff, causing the health sector to collapse. This was part of an Israeli plan to make Gaza uninhabitable and ethnically cleanse the Strip either through pushing Palestinians to leave and/or kill them.

Houthi Ballistic Missile Lands in Tel Aviv as Israelis Flock to Shelters

The Yemeni Houthi group announced, Monday, its forces attacked a military target in the Jaffa (Tel Aviv) area in central Israel with a hypersonic ballistic missile.

News of the attack is trending on the social media with many Israelis going back to underground bunkers for safety as the Kan, the Israeli Broadcasting Authority confirmed the missile launch that landed in the Tel Aviv area.

The launch of the missile was made in a televised statement read by the group’s military spokesman Yahya Saree, which said the group’s missile force “targeted a military target of the Israeli enemy in the occupied Jaffa area (Tel Aviv) with a hypersonic ballistic missile of the Palestine 2 type.”

The Houthi spokesman added that “the operation achieved its goals successfully,” without providing further details.

Saree vowed that the group’s forces “will continue to carry out their military operations and strike all targets belonging to the Israeli enemy in the occupied territories, and these operations will not stop until the aggression on Gaza stops and the siege on the Strip is lifted.”

He continued: “Our forces, along with all the sons of the struggling Yemeni people, are ready to confront any Israeli-American aggression targeting Yemen, with more qualitative and effective military operations.”

Israel announced earlier on Monday it had intercepted a drone and a missile launched from Yemen.

In turn, the Israeli ambulance announced in a statement, Monday, five people were injured while heading to shelters in Tel Aviv and other cities and regions in the center of the country “after a missile was fired from Yemen.”

“In solidarity with the Gaza Strip,” which has been subjected to Israeli genocide with American support since 7 October, 2023, the Houthis have been targeting Israeli or related cargo ships in the Red Sea, the Arabian Sea, and the Indian Ocean with missiles and drones, and carrying out missile and drone attacks on Israel, including operations targeting Tel Aviv.

Since the beginning of 2024, a US-led coalition has been launching raids that it says target “Houthi sites” in various areas of Yemen, in response to its naval attacks, which has been met with a response from the group from time to time.

Gaza: A Street Graveyard

A dire environmental disaster looms over Gaza, as the streets of the northern Strip become graveyards for countless Palestinians killed in relentless Israeli airstrikes, warned Mohammed Abu Afash, Director of the Medical Relief Organization in Gaza.

Unretrieved bodies, abandoned amid the chaos, now rot in the open. The haunting scene is worsened by stray animals feeding on the corpses, creating an ominous health crisis that threatens to engulf the besieged region.

The humanitarian crisis deepens as hospitals, already battered by bombings, are left without surgeons to tend to the wounded. Medical staff face crippling shortages of supplies, with access to northern Gaza blocked and healthcare workers themselves targeted by Israeli forces.

Abu Afash’s grim message paints a picture not just of suffering but of an unfolding catastrophe with devastating human and environmental consequences.
