Which States Are Restricting Weapons’ Sales to Israel?

Several Western countries and companies have restricted the sale of raw materials to Israel that can be converted to ammunition amid Tel Aviv’s deadly offensive on the Gaza Strip, according to Israeli media on Tuesday as reported by Anadolu

Weapons suppliers from European countries “have simply stopped responding to their Israeli counterparts,” Israeli financial newspaper Calcalist said.

It said Italy, Canada and Belgium have announced a halt to defense exports to Israel. Spain also prevented a ship carrying a weapons shipment from India to Israel from docking at its ports stated the Turkish news agency.

Some other countries, including Serbia, however, continue to provide an airlift of military supplies to Israel.

The halt of supplies of raw materials to Israel has raised concerns in the Israeli Defense Ministry and army about the possibility of an ammunition shortage.

Looking for alternatives, the Israeli defense establishment has begun to promote “the advancement of the local industry and reducing reliance on imported shells and ammunition from foreign countries,” the newspaper said.

This option, however, is not sufficient as the ammunition produced in Israel is more expensive than that can be imported from abroad.

Israel, flouting a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate cease-fire, has faced international condemnation amid its continued brutal offensive on Gaza since an Oct. 7, 2023 attack by Palestinian group Hamas according to anadolu.

Nine months into the Israeli war, vast tracts of Gaza lie in ruins amid a crippling blockade of food, clean water and medicine.

Israel stands accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice, whose latest ruling ordered Tel Aviv to immediately halt its military operation in the southern city of Rafah, where over a million Palestinians had sought refuge from the war before it was invaded on May 6.

Thousands of Israelis Demand Deal, Netanyahu’s Dismissal

Thousands of Israelis protested Saturday, in Tel Aviv, Caesarea and occupied Jerusalem. They demanded a hostage swap deal with Hamas holding the Israeli hostages – with the figure now down to 120 – since 7 October, 2023.

Thousands of Israelis protested in the “Kidnapped Soldiers’ Square” in Tel Aviv, demanding the return of the hostages through a deal with Hamas and the dismissal of the Benjamin Netanyahu’s government through early elections Anadolu reported.

Yedioth Ahronoth reported the demonstration was the largest in Tel Aviv since 7 October.

As well, thousands protested at the Paris Square in the city center of occupied Jerusalem; They also demanded a hostage deal, according to Israeli Channel 12.

And the same was the case in downtown Caesarea where protested marched to Netanyahu’s residence and called for his “immediate” resignation.

Knesset member Gilad Kariv took part in that demonstration where protesters accused Netanyahu and his government of being “responsible” for the deaths of dozens of hostages in Gaza.

Former Defense Minister Benny Gantz, who left the now-dissolved War Cabinet, also participated in demonstrations in the “Kiryat Gat” settlement in the Negev, where protesters demanded a hostage swap deal, the Turkish news agency reported.

More than 37,500 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza, most of them women and children, and nearly 86,000 injured, according to local health authorities.

Voices From Gaza: Killing Never Stops

In Gaza the killing never stops, the Israeli war machine continues blasting the Strip. While on the first day of Eid, the Israeli army hinted there would be a respite from military strikes for the duration of the Muslim holidays, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu immediately overturned the decision.

And so the horrors of war continued in their momentum with limbs and torsos and human remains on the silver screen as pointed out by James Elder of UNICEF in Gaza among the many other videoclips.

Starvation continues to haunt north Gaza once again. Here, Israel has continued to turn the screws on the 700,000 people still in the north by banning aid trucks to feed the hungry and disparate.

Forced starvation which Israel has long imposed on the Gaza Strip since 7 October 2023, is regarded as a form of genocide.
And death follows starvation with babies and children dying by the day because of malnutrition and dehydration.
