Israeli Soldiers ‘Rebel’ as War on Gaza Lengthens

Military and strategic expert Major-General Mohammed Al-Samadi said the losses suffered by the Israeli occupation army in the Gaza Strip reflect the level of physical and psychological exhaustion suffered by this army in this prolonged war.

His comments were made after Israeli media reported from military sources that the army is suffering from a shortage of manpower, after about 10,000 soldiers were injured and killed in the war whilst adding that fatigue is worsening among the soldiers due to the continuation of the war on several fronts.

Al-Samadi said the Israeli occupation army is only qualified to carry out quick and short wars whilst the current war on Gaza is the longest in Israel’s history, which has made the level of operational exhaustion in the army rise significantly.

He said the Israelis are accustomed to relying on a small regular army supported by reserve soldiers but this reserve is currently rebelling and refusing to participate in the war.

In his analysis of the military scene in Gaza, the Major-General cites what was reported by the Israeli Hayom newspaper that about 500 officers with the rank of major have already resigned from the Israeli army, describing this as drastic “hemorrhage in the ranks of this army.”

The rank of major is the backbone of the Israeli army, as explained by the military and strategic expert, who pointed out that the occupation refuses to disclose the losses incurred by its soldiers and officers in Gaza.

The Israeli Broadcasting Authority confirmed, Tuesday, that more than 13,500 Israeli wounded have been registered in the rehabilitation department of the Ministry of Defense since October 7, 2023.

Al-Samadi explains that long wars increase the likelihood of committing operational errors due to fatigue and a decrease in the level of focus on the mission.

The video clips broadcast by the Palestinian resistance factions showed – the military and strategic expert continues – the extent of the mistakes made by the occupation army, noting that the very high fatigue appeared especially among the elements of the 162nd and 99th divisions according to JO24.
