Jihad Al-Arini, a Palestinian man, had long struggled to make ends meet. For more than seven years, he worked as a sanitation worker for a municipality in Gaza, enduring hardship to provide for his family.
Sacrificing basic necessities, he worked tirelessly to save enough money to buy a home for his children.
In early October 2023, he fulfilled his dream and purchased an apartment, paying $12,000 upfront with plans to pay the remainder in installments. However, his joy was short-lived.
Just one week after moving into his new home, on October 7, 2023, the war broke out. The Israeli aggression destroyed Jihad’s apartment, along with all the buildings surrounding it.
Now, standing amidst the rubble, he surveys the remnants of his home.
Devastated, Jihad is searching for a new shelter for his children, hoping to set up a tent near his family’s home in Gaza, as he faces yet another challenge in his fight to provide a stable life for his loved ones.
