Pro-Israel Supporter Lindsey Graham Dead at 71

American Senator Lindsey Graham died Saturday at the age of 71 following a “brief and sudden illness,” his office said Sunday. A Republican from South Carolina, Graham was elected to the Senate in 2002 and reelected in 2008, 2014, and in 2020. Graham was a close ally of President Donald Trump and was an outspoken supporter of Israel. Graham was first elected to the House of Representatives in 1994. He maintained his support for Israel throughout the genocide in the Gaza Strip that began in October 2023, during which Israeli forces have killed 73,118 Palestinians and injured 173,615, while causing widespread destruction to about 90 percent of civilian infrastructure according to Anadolu.
