The world called Nelson Mandela a terrorist … until he liberated his people ![]()
Today we honour Nelson Mandela International Day.
For years Mandela was labelled a terrorist by powerful governments because he refused to accept apartheid and fought back. Today he is remembered as one of the greatest champions of freedom, justice and human dignity.
It is a reminder that those who challenge apartheid, occupation and oppression are often attacked, vilified and branded with names designed to silence them. Labels do not determine the truth. Justice does.
As Mandela famously said “We know too well that our freedom is incomplete without the freedom of the Palestinians”
To everyone standing against apartheid, occupation and injustice keep pushing. Do not be shaken by the names they throw at you ..
The greatest way to honour Mandela is not simply to remember his words but to have the courage to speak against and fight injustice wherever it exists and to stand for justice consistently without double standards.
Happy Nelson Mandela International Day. May we all have the courage to stand for justice …
“Our people in Gaza are not asking God where He is, but rather where the Arab world is, where the Islamic world is, where the church is, and where all the human rights organizations are. They question the silence of the governments that were pouring billions of dollars into teaching us about human rights. When our rights are violated, however, their silence is deafening.” – Rev. Dr. Mitri Raheb
