CROSSFIREARABIA – The Israeli war on Gaza since October 2023 resulted in the destruction and/or damages of around 97 percent of the cultural sites that include archaeological, religious and historical places, listed in the Strip. This is according to a legal documented study by the Center for the Protection of Human Rights. In its report unveiled, Wednesday, the center stated that 316 sites out of 325 where destroyed which clearly shows there was a deliberate attempt to target Palestinian cultural heritage in the enclave. It added the targeting of destruction was clearly “methodical” pointing to its criminality against the Palestinian people. The Center such destruction is clearly criminal and action against what Israel has done must be taken by UNESCO and the International Criminal Court. See article on Full report in Arabic.
