‘Stop Paddling Israeli Narrative’ – Hamas Tells HRW

The Hamas Movement has called on Human Rights Watch (HRW) to withdraw its latest report on the Gaza Strip, saying it “lacks professionalism and credibility and is full of lies and blatantly biased in favor of the Israeli occupation state,” according to the Palestine Information Center.

In a statement on Wednesday, Hamas strongly denounced the fact that an institution that defends human rights had made such a mistake, stressing that “the last HRW report repeats the lies that were made by the Israeli army and its media machine at the beginning of the events to justify its crimes against out people.”

Hamas accused HRW of adopting in its report the entire Israeli narrative and deviating from the scientific research methodology and the neutral legal position, adding that its report became more like an “Israeli propaganda document.”

Hamas affirmed that the HRW report did not talk about the Gaza people’s exposure to killing, destruction, starvation and suffering that goes beyond imagination.

Hamas also said that the report did not mention the number of the martyrs and wounded people that exceeded 120,000 within 285 days and the complete destruction of hospitals, universities, schools and infrastructure, “while the Israeli occupation’s killing machine persists in its crimes with full US and Western support.”

“The Palestinian people have the right to resist the occupation, the root of all evil, with all means and in accordance with what is enshrined in divine laws and international conventions,” Hamas stressed, adding that HRW ignored what the Palestinians in Gaza had suffered from repeated wars, killing, torture and siege before October 7, 2023.

“The [HRW] report deliberately has ignored on purpose the crimes that were committed by the Nazi occupation army on October 7 against our people in Gaza, and even against Israeli civilians who were bombed along with Palestinian fighters by warplanes and tank projectiles,” Hamas said.

“This international organization’s report has confirmed its inhuman bias when talking about Israeli prisoners who are being held by the Palestinian resistance and the need to release them immediately, without demanding the release of thousands of Palestinian prisoners, men, women and children, [from Israeli jails]” Hamas added.

The Hamas Movement has held HRW fully responsible for what was mentioned in its report that justified Israel’s crimes, stressing that the report damaged HRW’s image.

    Palestinian Population Tops 15.5 Million

The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) said Tuesday that the number of Palestinians worldwide has reached about 15.5 million, including 7.4 million living in historic Palestine.

In a statement marking the 78th anniversary of the Nakba, a term used by Palestinians to mark Israel’s creation in 1948, the bureau said about 8.1 million Palestinians live in the diaspora.

It said more than two million Palestinians are displaced inside Gaza and the occupied West Bank as a result of Israel’s war on Gaza and continued settlement expansion.

Israel’s war on Gaza has displaced nearly two million Palestinians out of about 2.2 million who lived in the enclave on the eve of the war, the bureau said. Many now live in tents, shelters and schools.

About 40,000 Palestinians have also been displaced from refugee camps in the northern West Bank because of the ongoing Israeli military operations, the bureau added.

In the West Bank, illegal Israeli settlement activity continues to expand, the statement said, adding that the number of illegal settlements and military bases reached 645 by the end of 2025. The total includes 151 illegal settlements, 350 settlement outposts and 144 other sites.

Official figures show that the number of Israeli occupiers in the West Bank reached about 778,567 by the end of 2024, with 42.8% concentrated in occupied East Jerusalem.

The bureau said Israeli authorities seized more than 5,571 dunams (1,377 acres) of Palestinian land in 2025 through seizure orders, expropriation and declarations of “state land.”

It also documented more than 61,000 attacks by Israeli forces and occupiers in the West Bank between 2022 and 2025, which led to the uprooting and bulldozing of more than 81,000 trees, most of them olive trees.

Israeli authorities continue to impose strict restrictions on Palestinians through about 900 military checkpoints and gates across the West Bank, limiting residents’ movement and blocking access to large areas of agricultural and grazing land, the bureau said.

In Gaza, the bureau said Israel’s war has completely destroyed more than 102,000 buildings and fully or partially damaged more than 330,000 housing units, along with widespread destruction of infrastructure, health facilities and schools according to Anadolu.

The Israeli army has killed more than 72,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured over 172,000 others in a two-year offensive on Gaza since October 2023.

Israeli Army: 18 Soldiers Dead, 910 Injured in Lebanon

The Israeli army revealed, Tuesday, its total casualty figures in the ongoing battles with the resistance movement in southern Lebanon since fighting resumed in 2 March, 2026

The army reported in an official statement that the deaths of 18 officers and soldiers, along with 910 that were wounded, during the continued clashes in southern part of the country and as reported by the the Palestinian Information Center.

The fierce battles in south Lebanon have been unexpected because of their intensity. The Israeli army noted that 190 officers and soldiers were wounded just in the past two weeks; it specified that 114 soldiers sustained moderate injuries, while 52 others were in serious condition.

However, the Israeli army put on a stiff upper lip. It claimed to have destroyed Hezbollah missile launchers, which it said were aimed at occupied Palestine and its forces were in forward deployment mode in southern Lebanon.

It also claimed to have killed 15 Hezbollah members, alleging they posed a “threat” to its forces, and announced the discovery of a weapons cache in the town of Rashaf, according to its statement released Tuesday evening.

The Israeli occupation army continues its intensive attacks on Lebanon as part of an ongoing aggression that has resulted in thousands of martyrs and wounded, in addition to the displacement of more than 1.6 million people.

Despite the fragile ceasefire that came into effect on April 17, the occupation forces continue their incursions into southern Lebanon, along with carrying out systematic demolitions and destruction of homes and buildings, and forcibly displacing residents from dozens of villages, under the pretext of targeting what they describe as “military infrastructure and Hezbollah elements.”
