Sinwar Killed Whilst Fighting in Battle

A source said the late martyr Yahya Sinwar, head of the Hamas political bureau, was at the forefront of Al Aqsa Flood that began on 7 October, 2023.

According to the Quds Press News Agency, the source revealed that “leader Sinwar used to move between all the ‘combat sites’ in the Gaza Strip, fighting heroic battles with his men in eastern Khan Yunis, to the eastern sector of Rafah, steadfast and firm on the proud land of Gaza whilst defending the land of Palestine and its sanctities”.

He continued: “The martyrdom of Sinwar in Rafah confirms he was in the forefront of the defensive ranks of the resistance and was martyred in an area of operations and activity against the criminal Zionist army”.

The source stressed “his martyrdom in a battle above ground refutes the rumors of the enemy about him hiding in a tunnel, or that he was taking shelter with Israeli prisoners, together with the lies that spread against him”.

He pointed out “the martyr ascended forward, not backward, brandishing his weapon, engaging and confronting the occupation army at the forefront of the ranks.”

The source stressed: “The Hamas organizational cohesion, and that its Shura institutions are capable of overcoming the blows, and the movement will remain, confronting the occupier until it is eliminated and defeated.”

Khalil al-Hayya, Hamas Political Bureau member mourned Sinwar, saying he was martyred whilst “engaging and confronting the Israeli army,” stressing there will be no return of the Israeli prisoners except through stopping the aggression on the Gaza Strip.

Al-Hayya said in a recorded speech, Friday: “We mourn Yahya Sinwar, head of the Hamas Political Bureau, commander of the Battle of the Flood of Al-Aqsa, who ascended as a heroic martyr, drawing his weapon.”

He added Sinwar was killed whilst “engaging and confronting the Israeli occupation army until the last moment of his life.”

He added: “Sinwar was at the forefront, moving between combat positions, steadfast and fixed on the land of Gaza, defending Palestine,” according to Jo24.

Maariv: Cabinet Must “Think” Before Israel Falls in Regional Mud

A year after the Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip and the war’s spread to Lebanon, Israeli politicians must now be involved in a real soul-searching process and study the course of this war on all fronts so may may see whether Israel succeeds in changing the strategic reality in the region or is begining the process of drowning in the mud on all fronts.

According to the Maariv newspaper, Israel is not built for  long wars and/or wars of attrition. The Israeli economy relies on human capital and therefore long wars could lead to the collapse of the economy.

To this day, the newspaper says, “three army divisions are conducting maneuvers in the Strip. But so far no combat goal has been achieved in Gaza.

“The Southern Command has not presented an exit plan, the Israeli army has not yet achieved most of the war’s goals: It has not released the 101 remaining hostages, it has not eliminated Yahya Sinwar, and has not been able to dissolve Hamas. It seems that day-after-day we will drown in the Gaza mud,” it said.

The Israeli army is relying on evacuating border villages. In general, the army has taken control of most of the line north of the border fence, but plans for the future are unclear.

For its part, Hezbollah has announced that it intends to operate in a guerrilla style to: Take advantage of the fact that Israel is not interested in a war of attrition.

In the West Bank, the newspaper says, the army is operating in Nablus, Jenin and Tulkarm. It is trying, in cooperation with the Shin Bet, to maintain a level of attack and operations in a way that does not turn the West Bank into another strong front.

In Iran, the Israeli government has not decided what it wants to do. Israel is obligated to attack forcefully after the Iranian attack two weeks ago, but the Iranian issue is complicated.

This is also due to the international community led by the United States, and countries in the Middle East warning of the repercussions of any Israeli response on the economy and oil and gas prices, the expected damage from Iran to the assets of the United States or moderate countries, and its impact on the elections in the USA.

All of these are part of the considerations that the Israeli government must make in order to evaluate what is happening on all fronts, because the future has become unanswerable.

Israel no Longer Controls The Cards – Military Expert

Military expert Dr. Nidal Abu Zeid said Washington trusts what Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant says rather than the utterings of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Because of this, it will not allow his dismissal at this critical time after 347 days of the extermination war on Gaza.

Disagreements

Abu Zeid added to Jordan24 the ongoing disagreements between Netanyahu and Galant confirms the structure of the occupation army is eroding. It shows Netanyahu’s move to dismiss Galant is linked to the latter’s view there is a need to withdraw from the Gaza Strip.

Netanyahu and the ruling right however, see stopping the military onslaught on Gaza now would be an unacceptable defeat.

The military and strategic expert pointed out “all indicators support the option of the dismissal of Galant infavor of the proposed alternative, which is the appointment of Gideon Sa’ar,” to take his place. But “if Galant, who has a military background, has failed to achieve any noteworthy achievement in Gaza, how will Sa’ar succeed,” he asks.

Changing circumstances

Regarding the possibile launching of a military operation against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, Abu Zeid believes all circumstances indicate Israel is unable to launch a large-scale ground military operation against Hezbollah.

He added if it did so, it would be an ill-considered military adventure, noting the occupation army, after its major losses in Gaza, is now unable to launch a successful military operation “at least for the time being”.

Abu Zeid added that the statements of the head of Hamas Yahya Sinwar, confirms that the resistance, after 347 days, remains cohesive. This is in contrast to a state of disintegration shown by the media discourse of the Israeli military.

Can of worms

It shows the army in a complicated situation between a northern front it is unable to control, an intractable Gaza front and a new front in the West Bank that may lead to a security deterioration among Israel’s Arab population inside the Green Line, in addition to the Houthi penetration that has taken out Israeli deterrence from a distance of 2000 kilometers away.

Sinwar Praises The Yemeni ‘Hypersonic Missile’ on Tel Aviv

Abdul-Malik Al Houthi, leader of the Houthi Ansar Allah group in Yemen, received a special message from the Hamas political bureau Chief Yahya Sinwar, in which the latter blessed the launch of a ballistic missile that reached the heart of Israel in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Sinwar expressed his elation for the Houthis’ support for the Palestinian resistance in its Flood of Al-Aqsa battle as according to what was reported by Houthi-affiliated media outlets.

Sinwar blessed the success of the military operation, coming in the fifth phase of the escalation with the missile striking deep into the Israeli entity while bypassing all layers and systems of defense and interception. He noted the operation restored what he termed as the glow of the Flood of Al-Aqsa Battle and its impact on the heart of Jaffa “Tel Aviv” once again.

Genocide’s Failure

Sinwar stressed the steps to contain and neutralize the resistance fronts being carried out under American supervision have failed, just as the genocide war against the Palestinian people has failed.

He stressed the successful operation sent a clear message to the enemy that the impact of the so-called “support fronts” have started to take a more effective direction, and greater impact on the path to resolve the battle in favor of our free and proud peoples.

The political bureau chief praised what he called the heroes of Yemen as developing creatively their military capabilities till they have reached the Israeli depth.

Sinwar sent greetings to the great Yemeni people: “Throughout its history, Yemen has always supported our Palestinian people and their just cause, and its fields continue to witness weekly actions in support of the Battle of the Flood of Al-Aqsa.”

On the current Gaza humanitarian situation, Sinwar to two facts: The state of pain and severe suffering as a result of the Nazi aggression, genocide, siege and starvation, which requires all the sons of the nation to support and stand by it, and the state of valiant resistance led by the Qassam Brigades, which waged the 7 October attack with unparalleled competence, and waged a defensive battle throughout an entire year that exhausted and inflicted heavy losses on the enemy.

At the end of the message he confirmed the resistance is well and what the Israeli enemy is announcing is nothing but lies and psychological warfare, stressing the resistance prepared itself to fight a long battle of attrition that will break the enemy’s political will, just as the Al-Aqsa flood is breaking its military will.

He also stressed combining efforts with Yemen and the valiant resistance in Lebanon and Iraq will break this enemy and defeat it on the path to expelling it from the land of Palestine.

New Hypersonic Missile

Sunday, Yemeni military spokesman, Brigadier-General Yahya Saree, announced the implementation of a qualitative operation during which “an Israeli military site in the Jaffa area in occupied Palestine was targeted.”

In a statement, he confirmed that this operation comes as a victory for the injustice of the Palestinian people.

He pointed out the operation was carried out with a new “hypersonic” ballistic missile, and it succeeded in reaching its target while stressing the failure of Israeli defenses to confront or intercept it.

He pointed out the missile traveled a distance of 2,040 kilometers in 11 and a half minutes, and it caused a state of fear and panic among the Israelis, as more than two million Israelis headed to shelters for the first time in Israel’s history according to Al Ghad TV.

Netanyahu is ‘Enslaving The National Interest’ – Ex-Security Chief

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is “enslaving Israel’s national interest in the service of his own political, personal and criminal interests,” according to a former member of Israel’s National Security Council.

Most Israelis believe Netanyahu is “operating for his own political interests and not for the national interest,” Eran Etzion, former deputy head of the council, told Anadolu.

“I’m one of those in the majority who believe that this is the case.”

This is evident in how the Netanyahu government has “deliberately” failed in achieving its war goals, he said, adding that Israel has made some progress but remains far from eliminating all of Hamas’ military capabilities and governmental abilities in Gaza.

“I, as an analyst, cannot say that Israel achieved its goals, and I can say that the fact that Israel did not achieve its goals is by design,” said Etzion, a non-resident scholar at the Middle East Institute in Washington.

This government “deliberately did not want to achieve all those goals because they want to extend the war for the political reasons,” he asserted.

On Israel’s recent assassinations of Hamas and Hezbollah leaders, Etzion emphasized that “targeted killings are not an alternative for a real political strategy.”

Hamas’ political chief Ismail Haniyeh was killed on 3 August while visiting the Iranian capital Tehran for the inauguration of President Masoud Pezeshkian, a day after Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr was targeted in an Israeli airstrike in a southern suburb of Lebanon’s capital Beirut.

While Hamas and Iran have blamed Israel for Haniyeh’s killing, Tel Aviv has not confirmed or denied its responsibility.

A day later, the Israeli military claimed it had intelligence that Hamas military commander Mohammad Deif was killed in a July 13 airstrike in Gaza’s Khan Younis area.

The Palestinian group, however, has not confirmed Deif’s death, while it announced Yahya Sinwar as Haniyeh’s successor on Tuesday.

“Personally, I don’t think they (the assassinations) were strategically effective. They might have been effective tactically … but they’ve proven that they can recuperate pretty quickly,” said Etzion, who also served as the head of policy planning at the Israeli Foreign Ministry.

“This is certainly not a strategy,” he added.

‘Acting for the instigation of a wider regional war’

Regarding the future course of Israel’s war on Gaza, Etzion pointed out that there is a split within the country and its leadership.

The public and the “wider defense establishment” are in favor of signing a deal for a cease-fire and the release of hostages, he said.

However, Netanyahu and some of his ministers, notably the far-right extremist ministers, are openly advocating for and “acting for the instigation of a wider regional war,” he added.

“Most Israelis are ready to sign the deal as it is. The negotiators themselves are ready to sign. The minister of defense, head of the IDF, head of the Shin Bet, they’re all saying let’s sign,” Etzion said.

This position, according to the former government official, reflects “both the genuine Israeli national interest and the will of the majority of Israelis.”

“But Netanyahu is putting up new obstacles because his personal interest … is to prevent the deal, rather than to sign it.”

He pointed out that public opinion regarding the war on Gaza has changed over the past 10 months “as the actual situation on the ground turned out to be not as favorable as they hoped.”

Most Israelis, around 60% or 70%, now want to end the war, although they are still divided over the long-term solution, he said.

“I share the conclusion that the national interest dictates ending the war, releasing the hostages, going for elections, replacing our political leadership and our military leadership that failed catastrophically on Oct. 7 … going for a national reconstruction on multiple levels. That’s what we need in the coming years,” Etzion added according to the Turkish news agency.
