Palestine Was Never Bought!

Zionists often claim that Palestine was simply bought.

While Zionist funds did purchase land, it amounted to less than 6%.

This is documented directly in the Government of Palestine’s own Village Statistics from 1945. That 6% was acquired over 60 years of purchasing, using funds gathered from Jewish communities worldwide through the Jewish National Fund’s collection boxes and Theodor Herzl’s bank, the Jewish Colonial Trust. At that rate, purchasing the remainder of Palestine would have taken another 900 years.

While popular narrative claims those land purchases built a country, official ledgers show that 94% of the land was never theirs. That 94% comprised many things: village fields, public land, communal pastures, and desert.

However, one thing it was not: sold.

A land sale transfers a specific parcel—it does not transfer the neighboring village, the tenants, the wells, the roads, or sovereignty.

So why persist in claiming Palestine was bought fair and square?

Because if Palestine was purchased, then there was no conquest and no colonization—only fair business. It implies no one was driven out, and that an owner was merely tidying his property.

Ultimately, this myth exists to reframe a dispossession as a simple transaction; it is the counterpart to the “empty land” narrative. First, the people are erased from the story, and then that 6% is expanded to fill the entire map.

A receipt only proves ownership of the parcel written on it.
