Salim Al Shara Joins 152 Journalists Killed by Israel

The Israeli war on journalists in the Gaza Strip continues unabated. Salim Al Sharafa, a broadcaster for Al Aqsa Satellite TV becomes journalist no 152 to have been killed by the relentless Israeli bombing on the enclave.

His name is trending on the social media. Since the war begun soon after 7 October, Israel has consistently targeted journalists, TV anchors and media workers throughout the Gaza Strip.

The Government Media Office in Gaza confirmed the killing of Al Sharafa.

The New York-based Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) said the war in Gaza has become “the deadliest for journalists” since it began documenting journalist killings worldwide in 1992, according to Anadolu.

In memory of the two-year anniversary of the killing Shireen Abu Akleh, an Aljazeera television journalist and who was assassinated by an Israeli bullet. In commentary on his painting artist Said Elata said: This is my painting of Shireen Abu Akleh, who was killed by Israeli forces, and who proceeded to beat the friends and family of the people who were carrying Shireen’s coffin at her funeral. These sad and hateful actions, and attacks against journalists should not be allowed to continue, especially when innocent civilians are involved. Change is necessary, and Shireen’s passing shall not be forgotten. I honor and remember her beautiful life and what she stood for with my artwork.

Israel Tells 22 Palestinian Families to Vacate For Demolition

The Israeli authorities distributed 22 eviction and demolition orders for Palestinian homes in Kafr Aqab, north of Jerusalem, Sunday. The Jerusalem Governorate stated that Israeli forces raided the town and distributed the eviction orders. It explained the orders gave homeowners a week to vacate their homes before the demolitions would begin.

In a subsequent statement, the Governorate confirmed Israeli authorities distributed 22 eviction and demolition orders for several homes, noting that these measures were a prelude to the demolition orders. The Governorate did not specify the number of homes affected by the orders, nor whether the orders included both eviction and demolition. The Governorate added that Israeli authorities previously distributed stop-work orders for approximately 20 homes in the town, revising an earlier statement that had indicated the number was 30 according to Al Jarmaq.
