CROSSFIREARABIA – The Palestinian Statistical Dept stated, Thursday, that the population density in the Gaza Strip is unprecedented with 35,000 people living in one square kilometer. These statistics were made on the occasion of the World Population Day which falls on 11 July of every year. The Department stated the situation in Gaza is difficult as around 2 million people live in a tight area that doesn’t exceed 36 percent of the original area of the enclave put at 365 square kilometers. The genocidal war on Gaza that began soon after 7 October, 2023 has resulted in the killing of more than 73,000 Palestinian and the injury of 173,000 with 90 percent of the infrastructure destroyed. It also pointed out that the Israel war has created deep social disruptions as 58,000 children have lost one or more of their parents or both with the total number of widows exceeding 47,000.
