Halevi: What Happened at The “Golani Base” Was Difficult, Painful

The Israeli Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi, described during his visit to the “Golani military base near Binyamina that what happened there after it was hit by a drone was “difficult” and with “painful” results.

“We are in a state of war, and attacking a training base deep inside is difficult and the results are painful,” he said.

Hebrew newspaper Israel Hayom stated, Monday, 52 Israeli soldiers from the “Golani” Brigade are still in the hospital, and the condition of a number of them is critical, as a result of  Hezbollah targeting of the military base south of Haifa.

The Israeli army acknowledged the killing of at least four soldiers but the occupation is deliberately covering up its losses and which has become usual in this year-long war and counting.

Israel Hayom quoted the “Red Star of David” as saying stating that there were 67 wounded in the attack.

An initial investigation by Israel’s occupation army revealed that a Hezbollah drone targeted a training Golani Brigade base in a direct hit on its dining room while dozens of Golani recruits were eating dinner, and penetrated the roof, causing a large number of deaths.

Since 23 September, the occupation forces have expanded the scope of the genocide on Gaza to include most areas of Lebanon, including the capital Beirut, through air strikes of unprecedented violence and intensity, and they also began a ground incursion in the south whilst disregarding international warnings and UN resolutions.

The Israeli occupation army, supported by the United States and Europe, has continued its aggression on the Gaza Strip for 374 days, where its aircraft bomb the vicinity of hospitals, buildings, towers and homes of Palestinian civilians, destroying them over the heads of their residents, and preventing the entry of water, food, medicine and fuel. The ongoing aggression by the occupation on Gaza has led to the martyrdom of more than 42,227 people, the injury of more than 98,464 others, and the displacement of 90% of the population of the Strip, according to data from the United Nations according to Quds Press.

❝The accounts describe the theft of motorcycles, televisions, paintings, sofas and rugs on a wide scale, which has become routine. Both senior and junior commanders on the ground are said to be aware of the phenomenon, but are not taking disciplinary action to curb it.

According to the testimonies, as IDF soldiers leave Lebanon, they load stolen items onto their vehicles openly, without attempting to conceal them. “It’s on a crazy scale,” one soldier said. “Anyone who takes something – televisions, cigarettes, tools, whatever – immediately puts it in their vehicle or leaves it off to the side, not inside the army base, but it’s not hidden. Everyone sees it and understands.” – The Palestine Project
