Six Israeli Soldiers Confess Their Sins in Gaza

Israeli forces routinely executed Palestinian civilians during military operations in the Gaza Strip, according to testimonies of army soldiers.

Six soldiers, who spoke with Tel Aviv-based website +972 and Local Call news site, said troops shot at civilians simply because they entered an area defined by the army as a “no-go zone,” according to Anadolu.

“If we see someone in a window looking at us, he is a suspect. You shoot,” one soldier said.

Various sources said orders given to soldiers to shoot without restrictions gave them a way to blow off steam or relieve the dullness of their daily routine.

“I’m bored, so I shoot,” an Israeli soldier recounted. “I personally fired a few bullets for no reason, into the sea or at the sidewalk or an abandoned building.”

Another soldier said the Israeli military would open extensive fire on “seemingly unpopulated or abandoned areas” for no reason.

“Such orders would come directly from the commanders of the company or battalion in the field,” another soldier said.

Describing the approach used in Gaza, a soldier stated, “Shoot first, ask questions later.”

“That was the consensus … No one will shed a tear if we flatten a house when there was no need, or if we shoot someone who we didn’t have to,” he added.

The soldiers also described how the corpses of dead Palestinian civilians were left to “decay and be eaten by stray animals.”

According to them, the military hid these bodies before the arrival of international aid convoys “so that images of people in advanced stages of decay don’t come out.”

Two of the soldiers also testified to a systematic policy of setting Palestinian homes on fire after occupying them.

Flouting a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate cease-fire, Israel has faced international condemnation amid its continued brutal offensive on Gaza since an Oct. 7, 2023 attack by Palestinian group Hamas.

More than 38,200 Palestinians have since been killed, mostly women and children, and over 88,000 others injured, according to local health authorities.

Nine months into the Israeli war, vast tracts of Gaza lie in ruins amid a crippling blockade of food, clean water, and medicine.

Israel stands accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice, whose latest ruling ordered it to immediately halt its military operation in the southern city of Rafah, where over a million Palestinians had sought refuge from the war before it was invaded on May 6 accordiing to the Turkish news agency.

Hagari, Netanyahu Clash Over Hamas Resurfaces

Its being put this way: “A new clash is developing between Netanyahu and Hagari” as one blogger put it.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is angered by spokesman of the Israeli army Daniel Hagari who told the American ABC News channel that Israel would still be fighting Hamas five years from now.

Later Israel’s Channel 14 reported that Netanyahu strongly criticized Hagari in a closed meet of the Israeli government.

The clash between the two is trending on social media. Another blogger put it this way saying Hagari has “admitted to the American media that his army was unable to eliminate Hamas no matter how long lasted.

His comments are being widely distributed. Hagari told ABC’s Mike Gutman: “Will you and me be talking five years from now about Hamas as a terror organization in Gaza? The answer is yes.”

Israel Hayom said Hagari presented a candid assessment and it contrasts sharply with the “optimistic rhetoric” of Netanyahu “who continues to promise a swift defeat of Hamas.” The paper said Hagari’s comments suggest “a more complex and challenging road ahead for the Israeli forces in Gaza.”

The widening rift between Hagari and Netanyahu is increasing especially because the comments of the Rear Admiral about his earlier comments last month about the impossible task of destroying Hamas, quoted as saying:

This business of destroying Hamas, making Hamas disappear – it’s simply throwing sand in the eyes of the public,” he said. “Hamas is an idea, Hamas is a party. It’s rooted in the hearts of the people – whoever thinks we can eliminate Hamas is wrong.”

Little Boy Dies of Starvation in Gaza

Six-year-old Hikmat Badr died Monday, because of malnutrition and Israeli-induced starvation. He is just one of many children in Gaza to have died over the nine months of the Israeli genocide.

His frail body eventually gave up and he died in Al Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir Al Balah in central Gaza with news of his death all over the social media.

Hikmat was brought down here with his uncle and mother from the north of Gaza seeking food whilst his father stayed up north.

“We came here “in the hope of getting the necessary medical care and essential nourishment for Hikmat,” his uncle Ahmad Badr told Anadolu.

Badr said the Israeli army told him there would be food down here, but when they came  there was surprised to find there was nothing.

Last month, Dr. Husam Abu Safiya, the director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, announced the tragic deaths of four children due to severe malnutrition as reported by the Turkish news agency.

Abu Safiya revealed that the hospital had witnessed over 250 cases of malnutrition among children within just two weeks.

“Gaza faces a genuine health catastrophe, one that begins with children but could ultimately affect adults as well,” he warned.

One wrote “the death of the child Hikmat Badr due to malnutrition and dehydration, as a result of the siege and aggression of the Israeli occupation supported by the United States, Britain, Germany and France on the Gaza Strip. Do not forget, do not forgive.”

Yet another emphasized in Spanish “the Palestinian boy, Hikmat Badr, aged 6, died of hunger …due to the policy of extermination by starvation carried out by the Zionist army. In the last 48 hours, 2 Palestinian children have died from malnutrition… but you won’t see it on TV.”
