My new painting is titled “A Woman from the Vineyards of the Homeland.” A woman from the vineyards of the homeland hides a thousand stories in her palm, and in her eyes are the remnants of homes and the scent of the earth… and the orange. She reaches out to the grapes as if touching the face of the years, and carries in her dress a memory of the land, of jasmine. If the wind blows over the vineyards, her hair sways… but she does not bend, for she is a daughter of the land. If a path narrows, she carves a path to hope from the rock. A woman from the vineyards of the homeland… in her clusters is the memory of the land, and in her dress is the story of a homeland that will not die.
