Women and children are scavenging for food among mounds of trash in parts of the Gaza Strip, a UN official said on Friday. Ajith Sunghay, head of the UN Human Rights office for the Occupied Palestinian Territories, expressed concern for the rising level of hunger in Gaza. “I was particularly alarmed by the prevalence of hunger,” Sunghay said. “Acquiring basic necessities has become a daily, dreadful struggle for survival.”
Abu Mohammed, a displaced Palestinian man,and his family are surviving in one of the classrooms of a school in Gaza.
“We try to cover the windows with pieces of fabric, but it offers no protection from the cold or the rain,” Abu Mohammed said.
He added, “My family and I are sitting in a room without doors or windows. We endured a long, cold night, struggling without blankets for ourselves or our children.”
Former Israeli War Minister Moshe Ya’alon, states:

The entire northern Gaza Strip has been wiped out, and they [Israel] are carrying out ethnic cleansing of the land to remove Arabs and are seeking to resettle there.
