Palestinian Resistance Kill 4 Israeli Soldiers in Rafah Ambush

Four Israeli soldiers were killed in an ambush set up by the resistance in the south of the Gaza Strip. Also the resistance also carried out a qualitative operation against the Israeli occupation forces in the southern Gaza and bombed the sorrounding Israeli towns.

The Israeli media reported that four Israeli soldiers were killed in an ambush set up by the Qassam Brigades, the Hamas military wing in the southern city of Rafah Tuesday afternoon.

As well al Jihad Quds Brigades stated it “destroyed a Zionist Merkava tank east of Rafah by detonating a highly explosive barrel bomb,” and published scenes of its shelling of the cities of Ashkelon and Sderot, north of the Gaza envelope, with a barrage of rockets according to Al Jazeera.

Meanwhile, Hamas stated the occupation army committed a new massacre “by carrying out a brutal and intensive shelling that included a residential area crowded with residents east of the Al-Bureij camp, which led to the destruction of a number of homes over the heads of their residents and the deaths and injuries of dozens.”

The Gaza Ministry of Health also announced that the occupation forces committed, in the past 24 hours, three massacres in the enclave, of which 26 martyrs and 84 wounded arrived at hospitals, bringing the number of victims, since the beginning of the Israeli war on Gaza to 41,252 martyrs and 95,497 wounded.

In turn, Al Jazeera reported the martyrdom of journalist Mohammed Abu Shawqa in a bombing that targeted his home in Al-Bureij camp, and the recovery of the body of a martyr from the Wadi Gaza area, north of Al-Nuseirat camp, also in the central Strip.

Hamas confirmed “these heinous and repeated crimes show that the Israeli army  insist on its extermination war and the direct and deliberate targeting of defenseless civilians, amidst reprehensible global silence and a state of complete paralysis of the international system.”

It stressed “these ongoing massacres against the people of Gaza, which are being committed with the complicity and support of the US administration and western capitals, will not weaken the resolve and steadfastness of our Palestinian people or succeed in subduing their resistance, or bring the fascist Zionist clique closer to achieving the goals of its brutal aggression.”

With significant US support, Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza since October 7, 2023, which has left more than 136,000 martyrs and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing, amid massive destruction and deadly famine.

In disregard of the international community, Israel continues this war, ignoring the UN Security Council resolution to stop it immediately, and the orders of the International Court of Justice to take measures to prevent acts of genocide and improve the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza.

Israel no Longer Controls The Cards – Military Expert

Military expert Dr. Nidal Abu Zeid said Washington trusts what Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant says rather than the utterings of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Because of this, it will not allow his dismissal at this critical time after 347 days of the extermination war on Gaza.

Disagreements

Abu Zeid added to Jordan24 the ongoing disagreements between Netanyahu and Galant confirms the structure of the occupation army is eroding. It shows Netanyahu’s move to dismiss Galant is linked to the latter’s view there is a need to withdraw from the Gaza Strip.

Netanyahu and the ruling right however, see stopping the military onslaught on Gaza now would be an unacceptable defeat.

The military and strategic expert pointed out “all indicators support the option of the dismissal of Galant infavor of the proposed alternative, which is the appointment of Gideon Sa’ar,” to take his place. But “if Galant, who has a military background, has failed to achieve any noteworthy achievement in Gaza, how will Sa’ar succeed,” he asks.

Changing circumstances

Regarding the possibile launching of a military operation against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, Abu Zeid believes all circumstances indicate Israel is unable to launch a large-scale ground military operation against Hezbollah.

He added if it did so, it would be an ill-considered military adventure, noting the occupation army, after its major losses in Gaza, is now unable to launch a successful military operation “at least for the time being”.

Abu Zeid added that the statements of the head of Hamas Yahya Sinwar, confirms that the resistance, after 347 days, remains cohesive. This is in contrast to a state of disintegration shown by the media discourse of the Israeli military.

Can of worms

It shows the army in a complicated situation between a northern front it is unable to control, an intractable Gaza front and a new front in the West Bank that may lead to a security deterioration among Israel’s Arab population inside the Green Line, in addition to the Houthi penetration that has taken out Israeli deterrence from a distance of 2000 kilometers away.

Israel Sends Body of Maher Al-Jazi to Jordan

Jordan’s Foreign Ministry announced, Tuesday, it received the body of the martyr Maher Al-Jazi Al-Huwaitat, the perpetrator of the King Hussein Bridge operation, in which 3 Israelis were killed last week.

Petra, the Jordanian News Agency quoted the Foreign Ministry as stating Al-Jazi’s body was received from the Israeli side to be buried in Jordan after being handed over to his family.

The ministry said that, in coordination with the relevant authorities in the Kingdom, it is continuing its efforts to release the two Jordanian citizens, Musleh Al-Awdat and Hussein Al-Naimat, who are being held as a result of the shooting incident that took place on the Palestinian side of the King Hussein Bridge, which is controlled by Israel.

Kassib Al-Jazi, the brother of the martyr Maher, told Al Jazeera Net that arrangements are being made with the Jordanian Foreign Ministry to follow up on all the details related to receiving the body.

Pressure

The Jerusalem Post reported that the decision to return the body to the Kingdom came after great pressure from the Jordanians, and in order to “preserve the quality of security relations” between the two sides.

Over the past few days, the capital Amman and other cities in Jordan witnessed mass demonstrations demanding the return of Al-Jazi’s body, after the occupation authorities detained it following his martyrdom.

Al-Jazi, a retired Jordanian soldier who worked as a truck driver, had opened fire on Israeli border security while driving his truck through the crossing called Allenby on the Israeli side, killing three of them before he was killed by Israeli security forces on 8 September.

At the time, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described what happened at the Allenby crossing as a difficult day for Israel as reported in Al Jazeera.
