This picture, taken in 1949, shows Ibrahim Qattato “Abu Issa” and Nadia Kayla “Umm Issa” – from the town of Birzeit – in traditional Palestinian dress on their wedding day; Umm Issa appears wearing the embroidered dress and head covering in the style of Ramallah, while Qattato appears wearing the traditional “qumbaz” with the keffiyeh and agal.
