Israelis Panic as Missile Lands in Tel Aviv

Panic and anxiety struck Israelis after a rocket fired from Lebanon fell directly on a building in Tel Aviv. Later they spoke about the damage caused by the projectile and the shock they felt after it fell.

The Israeli media reported the “terrible destruction that befell the building in Ramat Gan after the rocket fell; They “wondererd “how can everything be routine after an evening like this!”

Israeli Radio Kol Hai stated in a media statement “the radio studios, opposite the place where the rocket fell, were damaged. It confirmed “damage to the radio building and technical equipment, while the radio employees were in the fortified room, which is used as a synagogue, moment the rocket fell.”

The Israeli media also quoted a settler: “When the sirens started in our area, I never thought about standing at the window and taking pictures, but I immediately ran for cover,” and then “a rocket fell 10 meters from my house and shattered the windows, while my body went into a state of pain due to the shock.”

Meanwhile the Israeli media reported that “settlers began collecting the rocket fragments and exchanging them,” as the rocket fell in Ramat Gan.

It pointed out “dozens of young men, after the rocket fell in Ramat Gan Monday, came and began collecting the many rocket fragments in the area.”

One eyewitness described: “They [Israelis] began exchanging: I give you a large fragment and you give me two small fragments,” asking: “Since when has this been the custom?”

One media source stated: “People think these rockets are a toy, they do not realize how dangerous they are until they falls on their heads.”

Monday, Hezbollah said it bombed the Tel Haim base (of the Military Intelligence Division of the Israeli occupation army), 120 km from the Lebanese-Israeli border, in Tel Aviv, with a salvo of high-quality rockets and a squadron of attack drones, which hit their targets with precision.

As Hezbollah’s missiles hit their targets, the Israeli media speculated what their type was, especially the missile that fell on the “Greater Tel Aviv” area and directly hit a building after Israeli air defense systems failed to intercept it. The Israeli media further suggested that the missile launched from Lebanon was a Fateh 110 type with a range of 300 km.

The Ramat Gan police chief acknowledged the damage caused was by “a direct hit, not by interception shrapnel” and expressing “fear of the collapse of buildings”.

He pointed out that “Hezbollah used a missile carrying a very heavy warhead, which caused great destruction in Ramat Gan,” according to Al Mayadeen.

700,000 Settlers Leave Israel Since 7 October

Israeli historian and political scientist Ilan Pappé said in an interview that over 700,000 Israeli settlers have left Israel since the start of the war on Gaza soon after 7 October, 2023.

An estimated 10,000 Israelis have emigrated to Canada this year amidst the ongoing genocidal war on Gaza, the daily Haaretz has reported.

A total of 7,850 Israelis applied for and received a work visa in 2024 – a figure five times higher than the previous year, the Hebrew paper said.

In 2023, 1,585 Israelis were granted work visas in Canada, compared to 1,505 applicants the previous year.

Meanwhile Over 18,000 Israelis applied for German citizenship between January-September this year – more than double the 9,000 who applied in the whole of 2023 according to Haaretz.

‘We Are Living a Nightmare of Grief, Bloodshed’

The UN Middle East peace process coordinator warned Monday that the region stands at a “grim crossroads” following more than a year of devastating war and bloodshed.

“After over a year of horrific war and bloodshed, the region is at a grim crossroads,” Tor Wennesland told the UN Security Council. “We are living a nightmare. The trauma and grief that has been unleashed is immeasurable.”

Describing a dire picture of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, particularly in the northern areas, Wennesland said “humanitarian situation in Gaza, as winter begins, is catastrophic, particularly developments in the north of Gaza with a large-scale and near-total displacement of the population and widespread destruction and clearing of land, amidst what looks like a disturbing disregard for international humanitarian law.”

He stated that conditions in Gaza are among the “worst” seen during the entire conflict, with no signs of improvement.

Expressing grave concern over the escalating violence in the occupied West Bank, he also described it as being trapped in a “destructive spiral of violence and hopelessness.”

The UN envoy further criticized Israel’s continued expansion of settlements, accusing the government of accelerating settlement activity and warning against calls by some ministers for the annexation of the West Bank and the re-establishment of settlements in Gaza.

“These dynamics exact a political toll, further undermining the Palestinian Authority, which continues to face an ongoing fiscal and institutional crisis,” he said.

Wennesland warned that the institutional framework supporting the Palestinian people is “on the brink of dissolution,” which could lead to even greater instability in the region.

“If the parties cannot find a path out of perpetual warfare, then the international community must define the path forward,” he urged.

He stressed that Gaza must remain an integral part of a future Palestinian state, firmly rejecting any calls for long-term Israeli military presence or settlements in the territory.

“There should be no long-term Israeli military presence in Gaza, while at the same time Israel’s legitimate security concerns, particularly in the wake of the acts of terror committed on 7 October, must be addressed. Calls for the reestablishment of Israeli settlements in Gaza must be firmly rejected and clearly opposed,” Wennesland emphasized.

Wennesland called on the international community to act urgently, warning that failing to do so could exacerbate the already dire situation.
