Three Israelis Dead, 67 Injured in Hezbollah Attack on Base Near Haifa

Hezbollah confirmed it launched a squadron of attack drones on a training camp for the Golani Brigade in Binyamina, south of Haifa. The party stressed it will remain present and ready to defend Lebanon and deter the Zionist enemy.

The devastating attack Sunday night, whick killed three soldiers and injured 67 while nine are in a critical condition, is being widely covered on the social media. Initially the social media reported Israeli Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi was killed in the attack but this was quickly denied as false rumor.

The attack on the military base is being described as the biggest since the 7 October, 2023 attacks in which 1200 Israelis were killed. A rocket landed on a dining room when it was packed with soldiers while there was no sirens heard beforehand with the Israeli authorities later saying they are opening up an investigation of what went wrong.

This was described as a double attack with drones and missiles launched by Hezbollah with mass thuds heard as drones arrived and exploded at the Binyamina military base, south of Haifa that has been subject to daily attacks for at least the last two weeks.

A leading source in Hezbollah confirmed the latest strikes shows the capabilities of the resistance are still strong, intact and capable of reaching the Israeli depth regardless of the relentless Israeli bombing of southern Lebanon, the southern district and even the capital, Beirut.

In addition, Hezbollah said that after closely monitoring a secret attempt by the Israeli enemy forces to infiltrate the outskirts of the town of Mays al-Jabal at (7:30) in the evening of Sunday 13-10-2024, its fighters ambushed the forces and showered them with a barrage of rockets and machine guns.

Hezbollah pointed out that violent clashes took place with the infiltrating force from zero distance, killing and wounding its members, and the enemy force withdrew amid the screams and wails of the attacking soldiers.

Hamas Derails ‘Generals’ Plan’ in North Gaza

Military expert Dr. Nidal Abu Zeid has confirmed that despite separating the northern Gaza Strip from Gaza City, the Israeli army has not succeeded in implementing the so-called “generals’ plan” so far.

Regarding what is happening in southern Lebanon, Abu Zeid said the equation of proportionality and gradualism is still prevailing in military with Haifa has become opposite equation to the southern suburb and Tel Aviv to Beirut in targetting and bombing.

Maariv: Cabinet Must “Think” Before Israel Falls in Regional Mud

A year after the Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip and the war’s spread to Lebanon, Israeli politicians must now be involved in a real soul-searching process and study the course of this war on all fronts so may may see whether Israel succeeds in changing the strategic reality in the region or is begining the process of drowning in the mud on all fronts.

According to the Maariv newspaper, Israel is not built for long wars and/or wars of attrition. The Israeli economy relies on human capital and therefore long wars could lead to the collapse of the economy.

To this day, the newspaper says, “three army divisions are conducting maneuvers in the Strip. But so far no combat goal has been achieved in Gaza.

“The Southern Command has not presented an exit plan, the Israeli army has not yet achieved most of the war’s goals: It has not released the 101 remaining hostages, it has not eliminated Yahya Sinwar, and has not been able to dissolve Hamas. It seems that day-after-day we will drown in the Gaza mud,” it said.

The Israeli army is relying on evacuating border villages. In general, the army has taken control of most of the line north of the border fence, but plans for the future are unclear.

For its part, Hezbollah has announced that it intends to operate in a guerrilla style to: Take advantage of the fact that Israel is not interested in a war of attrition.

In the West Bank, the newspaper says, the army is operating in Nablus, Jenin and Tulkarm. It is trying, in cooperation with the Shin Bet, to maintain a level of attack and operations in a way that does not turn the West Bank into another strong front.

Military Dr. Nidal Abu Zeid said the Israel occupation is trying to displace and strangle northern Gaza with fire and prevent the entry of any aid, in an attempt to implement what is known as the “generals’ plan” that has so far failed.

He noted that the Israeli army is now trying to implement such a plan by brute military force but the resistance groups have yet succeeded to thwart this pernicious project.

Abu Zeid added to Jordan24 that the current ongoing battles in Gaza are linked to the military operations Hezbollah fighters are waging in southern Lebanon.

He pointed out the missile barrages launched by the party, Wednesday, were the largest, with 200 missiles in one day, according to Israeli sources. This is in addition to Hezbollah’s success in penetrating the early warning and reconnaissance systems in the north of the occupied territories through its “Hudhud”.

Abu Zeid confirms that Hezbollah’s operations and activities are not random, but disciplined with sequential movements in a clear plan that begins with the unconventional defense of the forefront of the battle zone supported by missile barrages and reliance on the principles of proportionality and gradualism.

Therefore he added, we see Haifa being bombed whenever the southern suburb is bombed, with a gradual increase in type, quantity and range.

Regarding the Israeli response to Iran, Abu Zeid said that the indicators are escalating as the Israeli response approaches, the latest of which is Biden’s phone call to Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Galant’s visit to the Military Intelligence Division. These are indications that the integration of the intelligence position is awaiting a green light for implementation.

The “generals’ plan” is based on besieging the northern Gaza Strip, stopping humanitarian aid, and evacuating the population with the aim of “forcing all Palestinians in the northern Gaza Strip to leave and turning the north into a closed military zone.”

Iran’s FM to Israel: ‘Don’t Test Our Resolve’

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has warned Israel “not to test” Tehran’s resolve amid reports of possible military strikes in response to the barrage of missiles Iran launched last week in retaliation to Israel’s assassinations of senior Hezbollah, Hamas and Iranian officials.

“Our missiles can reach all their targets. We will respond to any attack on our institutions or infrastructure,” Araghchi said during a conference discussing the impact of Hamas’s October 7 operation on Israel on the first anniversary according to the Quds News Network.

“We recommend the Zionist regime not to test the resolve of the Islamic Republic. If any attack against our country takes place, our response will be more powerful,” Araghchi said.

He added Iran will continue to support the Palestinian cause to establish their own state. Addressing the Israeli strike that killed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, Araghchi said the “resistance” to Israel is not based on a person.
