Yitzhak Brik: ‘This War is Destroying Us’

An ex-Israeli general said the army has not yet defeated the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and are probably not likely to.

The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation quoted Yitzhak Brik as saying the army is in a state of exhaustion and soldiers are refusing to serve in the military.

The retired-general added that a new, unqualified defense minister has been appointed, in reference to the dismissal of Yoav Galant and his replacement by Israel Katz.

He added the actual defense minister is Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Regarding the northern front, Brik whilst acknowledging the fact that Israel “hit the Lebanese Hezbollah hard, but we are still far from eliminating it.”

Regarding the ground incursion into southern Lebanon, he said that “our forces have entered three kilometers deep, but they are not qualified to advance further.”

The retired-Israeli general added, “we are exposed to hundreds of rockets from Lebanon every day, and this war is destroying us.”

With American support, Israel has been committing genocide in the Gaza Strip since 7 October, 2023, leaving more than 147,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing.

Coinciding with its aggression on Gaza, Israel continues its daily raids on Lebanon and its ground incursion into its south, while Hezbollah responds by firing missiles, drones and artillery shells targeting military sites, intelligence headquarters, military gatherings and settlements.

Netanyahu’s House Bombed 2nd Time in a Month

CROSSFIREARABIA – It’s a second attack on the private residence of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in less than a month.

The Saturday night attack through two flash bombs landed in the courtyard of Netanyahu house in Caesarea is being described as a serious incident by Shabak and the Israeli police who quickly opened up an investigation.

The attack is widely trending on the social media with the official line being that Netanyahu and his wife were not in the house at the time and there was little damage.

The incident is being treated as “domestic” with three people arrested and under investigation with reactions  from the leader of the opposition Yair Lapid and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir. They all described the attack on Netanyahu’s residence as “redline” but it is difficult to see what they would do about it.

Israeli daily Yedioth Ahronoth said one of the arrested suspects is a senior reserve officer, a brigadier general, who has been active in protests against Netanyahu’s government over the past two years according to Anadolu.

The first attack on Netanyahu’s house in Caesarea was made on 19 October through a drone attack launched from Lebanon targeted Netanyahu’s home in Caesarea claimed by Hezbollah. The attack was described as so precise that it landed in Netanyahu’s bedroom.

This time news reports suggest that the flash bombs either landed in the garden and/or the courtyard of the house.

With 100 Missiles Into Israel Hezbollah Gains Upper Hand

The Lebanese group Hezbollah launched approximately 100 rockets toward Haifa and the Krayot region in northern Israel, Israeli media reported.

Israeli reports indicate that this was the heaviest barrage of rockets and the most intense shelling in that specific area since the start of the war.

The rockets were reportedly launched from border sites, areas that the Israeli army previously claimed were under its control.

Direct casualties were reported in the Krayot area, with ambulance crews dispatched following initial reports.

According to the Times of Israel, at least three people were wounded in Bi’ina.

The heavy missile barrage also targeted Haifa, as well as Route 22 in Kiryat Bialik and Kiryat Ata.

Sirens sounded across Haifa, the Krayot, the central Galilee, and the industrial zone between Acre and the Krayot.

Haifa Mayor Yona Yahav told Channel 12 that the scale of the attack was among the largest since Hezbollah began shelling northern towns on October 8.

Al-Mayadeen’s correspondent reported that the latest missile salvos toward northern Israel included two ballistic missiles, signaling a shift to higher-grade weaponry.

Hezbollah claimed responsibility, stating they targeted “a training base for the Paratroopers Brigade in the Karmiel settlement.”

The attack comes only one day following statements by the newly-appointed Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz, claiming that “Israel has defeated Hezbollah”.

“Now it is our job to continue to put pressure in order to bring about the fruits of that victory,” Katz said during a ceremony at Israel’s foreign ministry on Sunday.

Northern Front

Since the start of the Israeli war on Gaza, on October 7, 2023, the Lebanese movement Hezbollah has engaged directly, but relatively in a limited way in the war against the Israeli occupation.

Israel escalated its aggression with the cyber-terror attacks on September 17 and 18, which claimed the lives of at least 37 people including children, and injured around 3000 others.

This went hand in hand with a series of assassinations of Hezbollah leaders, including that of the Secretary-General of the resistance party Hassan Nasrallah on September 27.

These developments coincided with unprecedented bombings and airstrikes by Israel’s army on different cities across Lebanon particularly in the south, Bekaa and the southern district of Beirut.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced on November 10 that 3,189 Lebanese were killed and 14,078 were injured since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on Lebanon.

Expert: Israel Fails to Achieve Lebanon Goals

Military strategic expert Nidal Abu Zeid said the occupation army’s statements that it achieved 90% of the objectives of its military operation in southern Lebanon are unrealistic. How wounders whether they are really preparing to end their military operations in southern Lebanon.

He said the most prominent objectives, return of the residents of the northern settlements, have not been achieved. On the contrary he pointed out there has been a displacement movement of residents of many areas in the northern Israeli settlements due to continuing military strikes by Hezbollah.

Abu Zeid added to Jordan 24 that the occupation is preparing, through the media, to end the war with Hezbollah after the latter targeted three crucial military factories, namely the Rafael factory for manufacturing armor, Yudifat factory for manufacturing aircraft spare parts, and the Lama factory for manufacturing parts for air defense systems, 135 km from the Lebanese border.

He pointed out Hezbollah’s target bank has details and accurate information about important Israeli sites and is working on them on a “gradual equation.”

Regarding what is happening in Gaza, Abu Zaid pointed out the Israeli army established a new axis in north Gaza, parallel to the Netzarim axis and the Philadelphi axis.

Thus it is dividing Jabalia from Gaza city, which means re-engineering the geography and demographics of Gaza to enable its occupation forces to repeat the West Bank model by ensuring the ability to move within the Strip in the way it wants.

18,000 Lebanese Force-cross Into Iraq

Over than 18,000 Lebanese have entered Iraq since the start of Israeli airstrikes on the country since late September, Iraqi authorities stated, Sunday.

“Efforts are underway to receive Iraq’s guests from Lebanese citizens in batches,” Alaa al-Din al-Qaisi, a spokesman for Iraq’s Border Ports Authority, said in statements carried by the official news agency INA.

News about the influx of Lebanese citizens is making headways on the social media with whole families being forced out of the country due to the high intensity of fighting on the areas at the rim of southern and southwestern Lebanon.

Al-Qaisi said the influx follows orders from Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani to allow visa-free entry on Lebanese citizens, pointing out that over 18,000 Lebanese nationals arrived in Iraq since 27 September.

A massive Israeli air campaign in Lebanon has been ongoing since late September against what it claims are Hezbollah targets, an escalation in year-long cross-border warfare since the start of the Gaza war.

More than 3,100 people have been killed and over 13,800 injured in Israeli attacks since October 2023, according to Lebanese health authorities according to the Anadolu news agency.
