‘Yair Assaulted His Father’ – Ex-Security Chief

Former head of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s security team, Ami Dror, revealed Netanyahu’s son, Yair, assaulted his father, necessitating intervention and forcing Netanyahu to leave for Miami, Florida.

These remarks were made in a podcast interview with the Israeli newspaper Maariv. Dror, now an entrepreneur and a leading figure in the protests against judicial reforms, who is also running in the Democratic primaries, discussed his years working alongside Netanyahu, revealing a series of what he described as “extraordinary” and “shocking” incidents within the prime minister’s family.

Dror stated that Yair Netanyahu’s departure for Miami “was not voluntary, but forced,” adding, “Yair assaulted his father. It wasn’t a karate punch, but a real assault that required intervention, and that’s what happened.”

Dror strongly criticized Benjamin Netanyahu’s personal conduct, saying, “Netanyahu has never been a moral person.”

He added, explaining: “Immoral means someone who eats at restaurants and doesn’t pay, passing the buck to others. This isn’t someone you’d want as a friend, and you can’t turn your back on them.”

He pointed out that these traits weren’t new, saying, “He’s always been like this. The position has exacerbated it for him, his family, and his inner circle.”

He went even further, describing Netanyahu as “a moral garbage dump,” and deeming his current term in office “disastrous” politically.

Sara Netanyahu is a kleptomaniac

Dror addressed Netanyahu’s wife, Sara, saying, “I’ve said it before and I stand by it: Sara Netanyahu is a kleptomaniac.” He added that he had seen gifts and towels disappear from hotels, emphasizing that “gifts given to the prime minister belong to the state, not the family.” He described her as “a wicked woman,” and said that Netanyahu tried to present her in the style of Hillary Clinton, “but she’s no Hillary Clinton.”

Regarding her influence within the Prime Minister’s office, Dror explained that Netanyahu initially created her power, but she later consolidated it, becoming the “real center of gravity” in recent years. He noted that she was the one who halted the plea bargain (a plea agreement), motivated by a desire to maintain her position of power and her conviction that her son, Yair, was capable of succeeding her.

In closing, Dror emphasized his stance on Netanyahu’s trial, stating, “Yes, I want him in prison, not out of revenge, but for the sake of justice.”

He added, “In a healthy country, a prime minister who accepts gifts and obstructs legal proceedings goes to prison.”

He also held Netanyahu responsible for the failure regarding the prisoners’ issue, asserting that dozens of prisoners could have been released alive were it not for political calculations and stalling tactics.

US Man Shoots Two Israelis Thinking They Were Palestinians

A man in Florida, who has been described as a staunch supporter of Israel, is facing charges after allegedly opening fire on a vehicle in Miami Beach, believing the occupants to be Palestinian, US media reported.

The suspect, identified as 27-year-old Mordechai Brafman, was arrested and charged with two counts of attempted murder following the Saturday night shooting.

Unprovoked Shooting Captured on Video

According to arrest documents cited by CBS News, around 9:30 p.m., surveillance footage captured Brafman’s truck traveling south on Pine Tree Drive before making a U-turn at 48th Street, where the victims’ vehicle was stopped in the left lane.

Brafman then drove past, stopped in front of them, exited his vehicle, and fired at least 17 rounds unprovoked, striking both victims as they passed.

One victim suffered a gunshot wound to the left shoulder, while the other was grazed on the left forearm. Police confirmed that there was no prior connection between the suspect and the victims, whose statements were consistent with the surveillance footage.

After the shooting, Brafman drove to an area near 4887 Pine Tree Drive, where responding officers took him into custody.

Shooter Expressed Anti-Palestinian Motive

At the request of his attorney, Brafman was not interviewed by police, but while in custody, he spontaneously stated, “While driving my truck, I saw two Palestinians and shot and killed both,” according to the arrest report.

However, the victims were not Palestinians. They were Jewish Israeli tourists—a father and son visiting the United States.

The Times of Israel, citing the same arrest report, described Brafman as an extreme supporter of Israel.

Call for Hate Crime Charges

The Florida chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is calling for federal hate crime charges in response to the attack.

“It is the alleged shooter’s reportedly bias-motivated actions, not the actual ethnicity of the victims, that should be the determining factor for charges in this disturbing case,” said Wilfredo Amr Ruiz, a CAIR representative, in a public statement.

Hate crimes can include attacks based on mistaken identity, which appears to be the case here.

Florida’s lax gun laws, which allow residents to carry concealed weapons without requiring training, background checks, or a permit, have also been cited as a contributing factor in the attack.

Broader Pattern of Anti-Palestinian Violence

This shooting comes amid rising anti-Palestinian racism and violence in the United States.

In November 2023, three Palestinian college students were shot in Vermont in what authorities are investigating as a hate crime.

The students—wearing keffiyehs at the time—were attacked while walking in Burlington.

According to the US Department of Justice, hate crime reports in Florida surged by over 50 percent from 2022 to 2023, with the sharpest increase in cases targeting individuals based on ethnicity and religion.

Trump Proposes Relocating Gazans to Jordan, Egypt

US President Donald Trump, Saturday, proposed relocating Palestinians from Gaza to neighboring countries like Egypt and Jordan. This is an unusual proposal that was opposed by the former administration of Joe Biden.

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One towards Miami, the president said he raised the matter during a telephone call with King Abdullah II of Jordan, and he might talk with Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi on Sunday.

“I said to him (Jordan’s king) that I’d love you to take on more because I’m looking at the whole Gaza Strip right now and it’s a mess, it’s a real mess,” said Trump. “I’d like him (Jordan’s king) to take people”.

“I’d like Egypt to take people. I’m talking to Gen. Al Sisi tomorrow sometime I believe. I’d like Egypt to take people. And I’d like Jordan to take people,” Trump continued.

“You’re talking about a million and a half people, and we just clean out that whole thing. You know over the centuries it’s had many, many conflicts. And I don’t know, something has to happen,” he added.

Describing Gaza as “a demolition site,” the US president said: “Almost everything is demolished and people are dying there. So l’d rather get involved with some of the Arab nations and build housing at a different location where they can maybe live in peace for a change.”

He added that the move “could be temporary or could be long-term.”

The Biden administration opposed relocating Gaza residents outside the enclave, advocating a return of Gazans to their homes in the aftermath of a potential peace and a two-state solution.

Israel’s genocidal war has killed more than 47,000 Palestinians, most of them women and children, and injured over 111,000 since Oct. 7, 2023.

Since Jan. 19, a ceasefire is in place to bring respite to civilians in the Palestinian enclave, but Trump said last week he is not confident that the truce will hold.

“It’s not our war. It’s their war. I think they are very weakened on the other side,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office. “I looked at a picture of Gaza. Gaza is like a massive demolition site. That place is. … It’s really got to be rebuilt in a different way,” he said.

“Gaza is interesting. It’s a phenomenal location on the sea, best weather, you know, everything’s good. It’s like some beautiful things could be done with it, but it’s very interesting, but some fantastic things could be done with Gaza,” Trump added according to Anadolu.
