Iran warns region would ‘go dark’ if US strikes its power grid

Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani has warned that the region would “go dark” if the US attacks Iran’s electricity infrastructure.

In a post on X, Larijani said US President Donald Trump had claimed Washington could dismantle Iran’s electric capacity within an hour.

“Well, if they do that, the whole region will go dark in less than half an hour,” Larijani wrote, adding that the resulting blackout would create conditions to pursue US servicemen “running for safety.” TRTWorld

Iran Fired 250 Missiles on Israel – Haaretz

HAARETZ: Israeli sources said Iran launched about 250 missiles toward Israel during the war, around half of them carrying cluster munitions. Eleven cluster missiles penetrated air defenses, compared with three during last June’s war. One missile that exploded over the Tel Aviv metropolitan area scattered submunitions across a 27-kilometer area, including seven populated sites. Palestine Chronicle

The Iran War Costs Washington $11.3 B in 6 Days

The war against Iran has cost the US more than $11.3 billion in its first six days alone, Pentagon officials told lawmakers in a closed-door briefing on Capitol Hill, according to a report Wednesday.

The estimate, shared with members of Congress on Tuesday, represents the most “comprehensive assessment” lawmakers have received so far since the US-Israeli war with Iran began, according to the New York Times, citing three people familiar with the briefing.

The figure does not include “many of the costs” associated with the operation, however, including the buildup of military hardware and personnel ahead of the initial strikes, meaning the total cost is expected to “grow considerably as the Pentagon continues to calculate the costs accumulated just in the first week,” it reported according to Anadolu.

Earlier congressional briefings indicated that the US military used up $5.6 billion of munitions in the first two days of the war, reflecting a far higher rate of weapons use than previously disclosed publicly, the report said.

The initial bombardment included weapons such as AGM-154 glide bombs, which can cost between $578,000 and $836,000 each.

The US military has since indicated that it may shift toward less expensive munitions, including Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) kits.

Israel and the US launched a joint attack on Iran on Feb. 28, which has so far killed over 1,300 people, including Iran’s then-Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, over 150 schoolgirls, and senior military officials, according to Iranian authorities.

Iran has responded with drone and missile strikes targeting Israeli cities and locations hosting US military assets across the region.

Israel Displaces 1500 in The Occupied West Bank in 2025 – UN Report

The UN on Wednesday warned that more than 1,500 Palestinians have already been displaced in the occupied West Bank in 2026, reaching 90% of the total figure recorded in 2025.

Citing the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric said at a news conference that “new figures indicate that more than 180 Palestinians have been displaced due to settler attacks and access restrictions across the West Bank since the onset of the regional escalation,” bringing “the total number of Palestinians displaced within this context so far this year to more than 1,500 people, 90% of the number for all of last year.”

“Palestinians’ access to their places of work and where they receive services continues to be impeded by tightened movement restrictions imposed by Israeli security forces,” he said.

Noting that such Israeli restrictions “largely impede movements between cities and keep the iron gates at the entrances of many villages closed,” he added that “high levels of violence are persisting.”

He further stressed that “more than 40% of those displaced are children and that displacement deepens people’s reliance on humanitarian aid support and is often associated with the loss of economic livelihoods.”

OCHA called again “for the protection of Palestinians in the West Bank and for the perpetrators of violence against them to be held to account.”

On the situation in the Gaza Strip, Dujarric emphasized Israel’s “ongoing restrictions on aid operations,” which, he said, “are worsening an already critical humanitarian situation.”

“One example we can share with you today is about the growing number of generator failures in hospitals due to the lack of spare parts and lubricating oil,” he said.

Dujarric also reported “high levels of infections spread by insects that can be found in the many displacement sites throughout Gaza,” saying “nearly 23,000 suspected cases were recorded last month alone,” while “supplies of hygiene kits, insecticides and scabies treatment remain critically low, limiting our ability to respond.”

‘A Tel Aviv That Now Looks Like Gaza’ – George Galloway on Israeli Censorship

George Galloway talks about the extensive battering Israel is receiving through incoming Iranian missiles but says there is extensive Israeli censorship that forces the media not to show the extent of the destruction. Anyone showing such pictures would go to prison for five years. “Israel is getting a bloody good hiding but you don’t know that,” he says.
