Israel Escalates Genocidal War on Civilians – Euro-Med Monitor

As talks resume to reach a truce to end Israel’s genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, ongoing since 7 October 2023, the Israeli military appears to be using its policy of forced displacement and starvation as a tool of political pressure and blackmail according to Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor.

Israel is expanding its targeting of displacement centres and surrounding areas and continuing to carry out mass killing operations against civilians and displaced people, all while preventing the displaced from returning to their homes, starving them, denying them access to basic supplies that are necessary for survival, and blocking the entry of humanitarian aid. These acts demonstrate an insistence on committing genocide against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.

Israeli aircraft fired multiple missiles, Tuesday, 9 July at around 6:55 p.m.), at a group of people gathered at the gate of Al-Awda School in Abasan Al-Kabira, east of the city of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip. Abasan Al-Kabira houses thousands of internally displaced people. About 32 people were killed and 50 injured in the attack on the school, the majority of whom were women and children. Some of the victims’ bodies were blown into pieces.

According to preliminary data gathered from the examination of bomb fragments used in the attack, American bombs— which have been used in numerous mass killing operations against Gaza Strip civilians— were used in the bombing.

The Israeli army’s ongoing atrocities in the Strip, including repeatedly targeting UN-flagged shelter centres and killing those inside, while the international community remains almost silent, are primarily committed with the intent to eradicate Palestinians, with civilians being used as a tool of political pressure and blackmail. There is no justification for these crimes.

Since there has been talk of resumed negotiationsfor a ceasefire agreement, Israel has ramped up its attacks on the Gaza Strip. This suggests that Israel is applying pressure by increasing its targeting, starvation, and murder of civilians, as well as using them as a political tool for blackmail without respect for international law.

Israel has pursued, and continues to pursue, a systematic policy of targeting civilians in the Gaza Strip, who are protected by international humanitarian law. This targeting includes killing; starvation; arrest; torture; forced disappearance; sexual assault and rape; denial of medical treatment and humanitarian aid; forced displacement; bombing shelter centres over the heads of displaced people; targeting areas designated as humanitarian zones; and denying displaced Palestinians any stability or shelter, even if that shelter is only temporary.

Based on the aforementioned, all nations are required to fulfil their international obligations by enacting strong sanctions against Israel and severing all other types of political, financial, and military support and cooperation. This includes immediately halting arms transfers to Israel, including export permits and military aid; otherwise, these nations will be held accountable for the crimes that have been committed in the Gaza Strip, including genocide.

Additionally, the International Criminal Court ought to keep looking into any and all crimes committed by Israel in the Gaza Strip; broaden its investigation into criminal responsibility, in order to hold all perpetrators accountable; issue arrest warrants for those responsible; and acknowledge and address Israel’s crimes in the Strip, as they are international crimes that fall under the purview of the International Criminal Court and are clearly crimes of genocide.

Jinan Killed by Two Bullets From an Israeli Tank

Her father’s friend writes: “She was martyred as a result of a minor injury, as they say. She was martyred as a result of two bullets from a tank in Mawasi, Khan Yunis.

The leg injury may seem minor, but in the end it claimed the life of this innocent person who was only 13-years-old.

I ask would the impact of a tank weighing tons of iron and spewing explosive lava on a child like Janan be considered minor?

Is the horror and witness the death, this sweet little girl faced minor?

Is the pain of a bullet wound on a child as young as Janan be considered minor?

Is the bleeding wound without taking medications and treatments minor?

Jinan is one of the twins of a beautiful brother named Qais. They are two delicate, polite children. You can hardly hear their voices because of their shyness.

You see in Jinan’s eyes a sparkle of intelligence that makes adore her. I always saw her as older than her age. That child who loved life, her school, and her family, knows nothing about life except its simplicity.

Her heart only had room for a a rosy life and a natural dream for a quiet life. Jinan loves life, as soon as you start a conversation with her, she takes hold, but tactful in the most attractive way.”

13-year-old Jinan Hussam Abu Shamala was martyred on 3 July, 2024

This is the fourth Israeli strike on a school building in four days. These buildings are used by displaced Palestinians as shelters. The Israeli army wants the Palestinians to keep moving but nobody knows to where!

Exclusive footage from the school, obtained by Al Jazeera, shows young Palestinians playing football in the building’s yard as dozens of people watch on. Then, a loud explosion is heard, sending people running for cover.

“We were sitting and a missile fell and destroyed everything,” he said, sobbing. “I lost my uncle, my cousins and my relatives,” one Palestinian boy said.

The Israeli attack is trending on the social media with much images and videoclips and its just the last of thousands of massacres committed by the Israeli army in its genocide against Gaza.

The extent of horrors is conveyed by one report that simply says: “You are looking at the remains of what was previously a human being!” This is “from the US-Israeli strike on Al-Awda school in Khan Younis.

Their body parts are collected from the ground and placed into boxes and buckets.”

One lady said “My father was mutilated, I collected his meat with my hands.”

He was holding my grandfathers hand, but everything else was unrecognizable, they completely mutilated him! He was completely mutilated and my grandfather was half mutilated”

Earth-shattering testimony of a woman who found her father a pile of meat after being trampled by Israeli tanks,” she said.

European Union’s foreign policy chief condemned the latest deadly Israeli attack. “For how long are innocent civilians going to bear the brunt of this conflict?” Josep Borrell said on X.

Condemning the attack as a violation of international law, he said “those responsible must be held accountable.”

“It is imperative to immediately reach a cease-fire to bring respite to hundreds of stranded civilians, free all the hostages, deliver the needed humanitarian aid,” he said.

Israeli Soldiers Blow up a Mosque Second Time

A video clip is currently circulating of Israeli soldiers preparing to blow up a mosque that has already been blown up back in February 2024.

The clip shows Israeli soldiers frolicking in the mosque with one saying “as you can see, guys, a neighborhood in Gaza, I am going to blow the shit out of it! Guys, this is what it looks after its going to blow up! Truth, truth.”

The mosque that was already destroyed was in Khan Younis, the second largest city in Gaza which Israel occupied and bombed beginning last December till April.

The Israeli army has already blown up more that 800 mosques since their war on the Gaza Strip according to the government Media Office in Gaza City. It stated that 600 of these mosques are now fully destroyed.

Attacking mosques and then vandalizing them, destroying and desecrating them has become a favorite past-time for Israeli soldiers in this Israeli war on Gaza.

In one case Israeli soldiers recorded themselves using a destroyed mosque in Rafah as a kitchen after invading the southern city. The footage shows the mosque wall were vandalized with graffiti including insults at Prophet Muhammad whilst the area surrounded by Israeli tanks and trucks according to the Palestine Information Center.

Khan Younis: ‘We Will Work Amidst The Rubble’

Families are returning to live amidst the rubble of their destroyed homes in Khan Yunis. Despite the realities of their wrecked homes they are determined to make do and eventually rebuild their destroyed homes and livelihood.

Their homes were completely destroyed by the Israeli army who sorrounded the second largest city in the Gaza Strip in early December, 2023 and continued to bomb it.

Despite much battles, Israeli army entered the city a month later and by early March 2024, they begun to leave the city under intense fighting from the Palestinian resistance. The battle of Khan Younis will be returned because of the number of Israeli soldiers who lost their lives.

Returnees started to comeback after the Israelis pulled out; they came mostly on foot, the odd downtrodden truck and bicycles. But they were shocked by the state of callous and raw destruction.

They couldn’t believe what happened to their homes, shops and businesses, the scale of devastation, debris and wreckage.

However, the urge to return was exhilarating and continues today. This what defines Palestinians to their land, identity, culture and belonging.

Palestinians are determined to stay even on the top of their wrecked houses. If they could find a tent to sleep in, all well and good but if not, they would sleep in the outside air, under the sun and skies and during the day, they would use their skills, toil and labour.

The returnees would rather come back to a Khan Younis even if is in rubble form and wreckage.

They say everywhere is the same in Gaza; they are determined to rebuild their lives even in the ruins of their shops and homes because they have the “economic niche” to continue as one watch repairman told Al Jazeera English, adding “we need to start earning a wage to be able to live.”

Khan Younis, a city of 200,000 people was completely destroyed, its homes, schools, universities and colleges and its 1387 AD Barquq Castle all completely gone thanks to Israeli bombs, missiles and guns. It graves were dug up and at least 700 people were killed by Israeli troops and thrown in hastily made mass graves out side Al Nasser Hospital.

As of late however, The Times of Gaza documents the people who are still returning to their now destroyed homes. This is “home sweet home” even in a wrecked state.
