‘We Are Not Leaving Our Gaza’

“We are not leaving.” This is one of the most frequent comments made by Gazans that they will not exit Gaza and/or depart their destroyed homes.

Other comments are that “we are staying on the rubble of our houses” and “in our ramshackle tents no matter what,” adding “we rather die than leave Gaza.”

Since 7 October 2023 and the Israeli war onslaught on Gaza started, the number of people who left Gaza has not exceeded 100,000 people. This is out of a total population of over two million people.

And this is despite the mass slaughter and genocide perpetrated by Israel. More than 43,600 people have since been killed, mostly women and children, and over 102,900 others injured, according to local health authorities in Gaza.

Nobody is leaving also, despite the fact that over two million people have been displaced and are leaving in displaced shelters and tents.

Such is the steadfastness of the Palestinians of Gaza in the face of the Israeli army and extremist politicians who have been forcing Gazans to leave to Sinai and Jordan through mass starving them and killing a great many of the Strip’s population.

Expert: Israeli Soldiers in State of ‘War Fatigue’

Military expert Brigadier-General Mohammed Al-Samadi said the killing of five Israeli soldiers in two separate incidents in the Gaza Strip confirms the resistance’s exploitation of the rubble and debris of houses to launch sniper operations against occupation soldiers.

Al-Samadi added Israel imposes a blackout and censorship on its real losses in Gaza, as the operations indicate they are much greater than what is announced, pointing out the morale of the soldiers has declined significantly, because they have come to realize the futility of the war they are fighting.

The military expert cited talk about reducing the periods of service of the occupation forces, saying it confirms attempts to reduce cases of evasion from conscription and perhaps complete abstention from service due to frustration and “war fatigue”.

According to Al-Samadi, the resistance does not need large numbers of fighters to launch its operations, while the occupation army needs entire battalions and brigades in order to continue the war.

He pointed out the danger of the Israeli soldiers’ reluctance to go to war “at this dangerous stage in the life of the state”, and said that it reflects a lack of faith in the political leadership and the usefulness of the war, in addition to the fact that last October was the bloodiest month in the ranks of the occupation army.

Reducing period of service

The Israeli occupation army decided to reduce the period of reserve service from an average of 20 weeks for each soldier to only 9 weeks after the unusual decrease in the number of applicants for service, according to Israeli media.

Israeli media revealed a significant decrease in the number of reserve soldiers joining the Israeli army as a result of the government pushing a bill that allows the continued exemption of religious Jews from military service, as well as due to fatigue.

Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper said that the army is concerned about a decrease of between 15% and 25% in reserve service, and explained that this feeling emerged in recent weeks in the combat brigades in the Gaza Strip, and on the northern front – during the war on Lebanon – stressing that it affects the army’s operational decisions according to Al Jazeera.

Netanyahu Refuses Sacking of Ben Gvir

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sees efforts by Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara to sack far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir will lead to a “constitutional crisis” in Israel, according to local media on Monday.

“I don’t see a faster way to create a constitutional crisis than trying to remove a minister without an indictment,” Israeli Channel 13 quoted Netanyahu as saying during a Cabinet meeting on Sunday evening.

Media reports emerged that Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara will approach Netanyahu to sack Ben-Gvir for repeatedly violating the law while in office unless he changes his conduct.

This comes in response to petitions demanding the far-right minister’s sacking at the High Court.

Ben-Gvir, for his part, accused the attorney general of seeking to topple the government.

“You can’t just talk all the time. It’s time for action,” Ben-Gvir said. “Today it’s me, tomorrow it’s you – they want to take over the government.”

According to Israeli media, Netanyahu pledged Ben-Gvir not to allow his sacking by the attorney general.

Ben-Gvir, who is head of the extremist Jewish Strength Party, is notorious for his anti-Palestinian policies. He repeatedly joined illegal settlers in storming the flashpoint Al-Aqsa Mosque complex in occupied East Jerusalem, causing protests from Palestinians according to Anadolu.

Fires Rage in Israel as Cross-border Battles Spike

Fires broke out in the Western Galilee region in northern occupied Palestine, Monday, in an attack launched by Hezbollah with drones. This is while the Israeli occupation forces imposed restrictions on navigation on the beaches of southern Haifa.

“A drone launched from Lebanon fell in the Western Galilee region, without sounding the sirens,” Israeli Army Radio announced.

Fires and direct damage in the Western Galilee due to an intense rocket barrage from Hezbollah, the social media reported, adding that firefighting crews were on the scene working to extinguish the fires.

Hezbollah announced the implementation of 27 operations to confront attempts by the Israeli occupation forces to advance into southern Lebanon, and against its deployment sites and military bases in the border areas, and the attacks extended to towns in the Upper and Western Galilee and in the Israeli depth as well.

On the other hand, the Israeli forces imposed restrictions on navigation on the shores of southern Haifa on Monday afternoon for “security reasons,” according to Yedioth Ahronoth.

Further social media posts suggested that Hazbollah targetted the Haifa naval base with a squadron of drones as the Israeli occupation army continued its extensive military aggression against Lebanon, coinciding with intensive bombing and raids, especially in southern and eastern Lebanon This is at a time when Hezbollah continued to launch missile attacks on military sites and Israeli settlements.

The Lebanese News Agency said the Israeli attacks continued throughout last night and until Monday morning, on the villages of Tyre and Bint Jbeil districts, including the towns of Barghliyeh, Ain Tuta neighborhood between the towns of Burj Rahhal and Abbasiyeh, the entrance to Tyre Dibba, Ramadiyeh, Jamijmeh, Shehabiyeh, Batoulieh, and Burj Qalawiyeh.

The Israel army opened fire with its heavy machine guns towards the forests adjacent to the towns of Naqoura, Jabal Labouneh, Alma al-Shaab, Tyre Harfa, al-Dahra, and Aita al-Shaab.

The aggression on Lebanon so far resulted in the killing of 3,136 with 13,979 wounded, including a large number of children and women and displaced about 1.4 million persons. Most of the victims and displaced persons were recorded after September 23.

Hezbollah responds daily by launching missiles, drones and artillery shells targeting military sites, intelligence headquarters, military gatherings and settlements, while the occupying state announces part of its human and material losses, and military censorship imposes a strict blackout on most of the losses, according to observers.

In October 2024, the Israeli occupation army launched a ground operation in southern Lebanon with the aim of “strike and dismantle Hezbollah’s military infrastructure” in the region, according to the occupation. This ground operation is part of a broader operation launched by Israel in Lebanon in September 2024 under the name “Northern Arrows,” against the backdrop of Hezbollah’s support for the Palestinian resistance in the Gaza Strip since October 8, 2023. The party has repeatedly stressed that halting its attacks in support of the resistance in Gaza is linked to the occupation halting its war of extermination on the Strip.
