Israel Threatens to Resume War…

Israel has threatened to resume its genocide war in Gaza, setting a deadline of 10 days for Hamas to release the remaining captives, a move that violates the ceasefire agreement.

Israel’s Channel 12, citing an Israeli official, said on Monday that the occupation government has set a deadline 10 days from now for Hamas to release the remaining captives in Gaza before a return to war.

“We are currently at a dead end regarding the deal negotiations,” the official told Channel 12.

At the parliament on Monday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu threatened, “I tell Hamas: If you do not release our hostages, there will be consequences that you cannot imagine.”

Defence Minister Israel Katz later said if Hamas did not free the captives, “the gates of Gaza will be locked, and the gates of hell will open”.

“We will return to fighting, and they will face the (army) with forces and methods they have never encountered—until a decisive victory,” he said in a statement.

Israel Violates Ceasefire

Israel has imposed a block on all aid entering Gaza following the end of the first phase of the ceasefire deal. Netanyahu’s office issued a statement on Sunday morning confirming the decision.

The move, which coincides with the holy month of Ramadan, came after Hamas refused to accept the extension of the first phase of the ceasefire deal.

Israel said that it had accepted a last-minute proposal put on the table by the US president’s special envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, for a temporary ceasefire over Ramadan and Passover.

According to Israel, the proposal also outlined the release of all captives still in Gaza in two stages, with the second stage contingent on negotiating a permanent ceasefire.

“With the end of phase one of the hostage deal, and in light of Hamas’ refusal to accept the [US envoy Steve] Witkoff outline for continuing the talks – to which Israel agreed, Prime Minister Netanyahu has decided that starting this morning all entry of goods and supplies into the Gaza Strip will cease,” the statement said.

“Israel will not allow a ceasefire without the release of our hostages. If Hamas continues its refusal, there will be further consequences.”

Hamas refused to extend it, noting it will only release captives in phases, per the ceasefire agreement, which Israel is now refusing to continue.

It said it would only accept moving to the second stage, which was supposed to guarantee the definitive end of the assault, an Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, and the release of remaining captives.

Hamas also slammed Israel’s decision to block the entry of aid and adopt the US proposal. In a statement, the movement said this “is a blatant attempt to renege on the agreement and evade negotiations for its second phase.”

“Netanyahu’s decision to block the entry of all humanitarian aid into Gaza is a cheap blackmail and a war crime in an appalling violation of the ceasefire deal. Mediators and the international community must act to place pressure on the occupation and put an end to its punitive and immoral measures against more than two million people in the Gaza Strip.”

Hamas stated that Israel has continued to violate the ceasefire since it took effect, which has resulted in the killing of over 100 people in Gaza and the disruption of the humanitarian protocol. This includes blocking the entry of sheltering and relief aid, further aggravating the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza. According to Gaza’s Government Media Office, Israel has committed around 962 violations of the ceasefire agreement according to the Quds News Network.

Norway FM Snubs Netanyahu, Says Palestine is Homeland of Palestinian People

Norway on Friday rejected Israel’s argument that countries opposed to its actions in Gaza should take in displaced Palestinians, stressing that the forced transfer of civilians is prohibited under international law.

In response to an Anadolu email, Norway’s Deputy Foreign Minister Andreas Kravik noted that Palestine is the homeland of the Palestinian people.

“The Palestinian people have a fundamental, independent right to self-determination and their own state,” he said, adding that this was the basis for the UN Partition Plan in 1947, after which Israel was recognized by Norway and a number of other countries in 1949.

Kravik added that this stance on Palestinian self-affirmation is confirmed in several UN resolutions as well as the International Court of Justice (ICJ).

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz on Thursday said nations such as Spain, Ireland, Norway, and others, which he alleged have made “false accusations and claims against Israel for their actions in Gaza,” are legally obliged to allow Gazans to enter their territory. The three countries recognized the state of Palestine last May, and have criticized Israel’s war on the enclave.

But Kravik rejoined: “The forced transfer of civilians from occupied territories to other countries is prohibited under international law.”

Spain and Ireland also criticized Katz’s controversial comment, stressing that the objective must be the safe return of the people of Palestine to their homes.

The controversy follows US President Donald Trump’s widely condemned remarks that the “US will take over the Gaza Strip” advocating a permanent resettlement of Palestinians outside Gaza.

“The US will take over the Gaza Strip, and we will do a job with it too,” he told a news conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Forcibly displacing a population without justification under international law constitutes a war crime under the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.

A Gaza ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement took effect on Jan. 19, suspending Israel’s genocidal war on the enclave that has killed over 47,000 Palestinians – mostly women and children – and injured over 111,000 since Oct. 7, 2023.

Israel’s war on Gaza has left the besieged enclave in ruins, with half of its housing damaged or destroyed and nearly 2 million people displaced amid severe shortages of sanitation, medical supplies, food, and clean water.

In November, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, citing war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Separately, Israel faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice.

Katz Wants to Occupy Jenin For Good

Katz: ‘We Killed Haniyeh’

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz admitted, Monday, for the first time, it was Israel that was responsible for the assassination of former Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, and it is Israel that participated in the overthrow of the former Syrian regime of Bashar Al Assad.

Katz’s remarks came during a ceremony held by his army after the Yemeni escalation against the Iraeli occupation.

Katz addressed Sanaa, saying: “We overthrew the Assad regime in Syria, we struck the axis, and we will strike Sanaa.”

He continued his threats, saying: “We will damage their strategic infrastructure and kill their leaders, just as we did to Haniyeh, Sinwar, and Nasrallah in Tehran, Gaza, and Lebanon.”

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced the martyrdom of the head of the political bureau of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, in an assassination operation in Tehran, about five months ago, at dawn on 31 July, 2024.

The Israeli Maariv newspaper confirmed that the security and military establishments acknowledged their concern due to the escalation of the Yemeni threats. It described the Yemeni scene and structure as “very complex”, and that Yemen is not an “ordinary enemy,” according to JO24.

Earlier, the Israeli army radio described the latest aggression on Syria, following the fall of the President Bashar al-Assad regime, as “one of the largest attacks since the establishment of Israel.”

Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz confirmed the occupation’s decision to continue controlling strategic points in Syria, establish a security buffer zone, and target strategic weapons and air defense systems, and any attempts to transfer weapons to Lebanon.

The Israeli Channel 12 confirmed that the air force is operating on a very large scale throughout Syria with the aim of destroying what remains of the Syrian army and all its equipment, “from tanks to missiles,” according to the Kan official channel.
