Israel Continues to Strike Syria Despite ‘Assurance’
Israel has struck Syria 61 times in less than five hours, Sunday, according to the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
The news is trending on the social media with the Israeli strikes reaching Damascus, Homs, Deraa, Suwayda, Sednaya, the so-called torture chamber prison under the Al Assad regime.
However, the Observatory claims 52 of these strikes were conducted on military depots that belonged to the ousted regime inside different areas of Syria.
The Observatory, which is based in the UK, claims that since the fall of Bashar Al Assad last week, Israel conducted 446 airstrikes on Syria on 8 December, 2024.
Syria watchers, including those in the Arab world are condemning the non-stop Israeli attacks as willful destruction of essential security public property that now belongs to the Syrian people.
The new Syrian leader Ahmad Al Sharaa, known as Mohammad Al Jolani whose HTS (Hayat Tahrir Al Sham) group was mainly responsible for the ouster of the old Baathist regime says he is not interested in a new conflict with Israel.
But despite this the Israelis, who occupy the Golan Heights, continue to bomb Syrian targets
Israel Kills Two Journalists in One Day
In just one day, Saturday, Israeli killed two journalists in Gaza. Mohammad Baalousha and Mohammed Jaber Al-Qerainawi were killed in two separate incidents as Israeli warplanes targeted their homes in the Gaza Strip.
It all begun with the targeting of Baalousha, a correspondent for Al-Mashhad Lebanese Channel. An Israeli quadcopter targeted his home in the Ahmad Yassin Street in the Saftawi neighborhood of Gaza City killing him instantly.
The second journalist Mohammed Jabr Al-Qrinawi was killed along with his wife, Maram, and their three children, Jaber, Sidra and Ayat in an Israeli air attack that targeted their home in Al-Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.
This brings the number of journalists that were killed in Gaza to 195 since 7 October, 2023 and excluding the 400 journalists that were injured as a result of continuing Israeli military strikes on the strip.
Israel Starves Gaza Kids
Spokesperson of UNICEF stated that Palestinian children in the Gaza Strip are most affected by the ongoing aggression. Children barely find food to eat amid the ongoing famine that has increased in intensity over the past 12 months.
Israeli Horrors
In Nuseirat, central Gaza, an Israeli airstrike destroyed a residential block, killing at least 36 people and leaving many torn apart.
Akram Bayoumi found a limp, charred piece of flesh amidst the wreckage while searching for his cousin’s family, who were buried under the rubble.
Mokhtar Abou Ayaman Elshaar rushed to the scene with others, but with no equipment, they could only search using cellphone flashlights, hearing the cries of the trapped until they fell silent.
The scale of devastation was beyond words, an indescribable nightmare.
