Hezbollah Kills 17 Israeli Soldiers in Fierce Battles

Hezbollah announced it killed 17 Israeli officers and soldiers in battles in south Lebanon., Thursday. In contrast, the Israeli army stated an officer and a soldier were killed in battles in southern Lebanon, Wednesday, while rockets from southern Lebanon caused fires in the border town of Matla in northern Israel.

Hezbollah also announced more than once, Thursday, Israeli forces detonated explosive devices during their attempts to infiltrate southern Lebanon. Israel’s Golani Brigade detonated explosive devices while it tried to go around west of Marun al-Ras in southern Lebanon.

Israeli media reported that helicopters rushed to the areas of clashes on the border with Lebanon to transport dead soldiers, indicating it was a dangerous and unusually difficult security task.

The Israeli army admitted the death of an officer at the rank of captain in the 202nd battalion of the paratroopers brigade and a soldier in battles in southern Lebanon Wednesday, but avoided mentioning any of the deaths in today’s skirmishes.

Meanwhile, the Israeli Fire and Rescue Authority announced that a fire broke out in the town of Matla after rockets were fired from Lebanon and said that its crews were working to put it out.

The Israeli Home Front asked the residents of the northern Golan towns to stay near underground shelters and not to congregate and to reduce movement. It also asked the residents of the city of Safed to stay near the fortified areas and refrain from getting together.

As well, the settlement municipality of Nahariya, in Israel’s northwest, asked all residents to stay near the fortified places and not to go out except in cases of extreme necessity.

This comes amid a continuous escalation with the continuation of heavy Israeli raids on villages and towns in southern Lebanon and on the southern suburb of Beirut amid attempts to invade the country by land, and in the light of Hezbollah’s response to them and the firing of dozens of rockets a day towards barracks and settlements in northern Israel as reported by Al Jazeera.

Mashhad Library: 500 Years of Learning

The Central Library of Astan Quds Razavi in Mashhad, Iran, stands as a beacon of knowledge, offering the world of science a priceless collection of rare and ancient manuscripts.

Speaking to Anadolu, the library’s Director Ebulfazl Hasanabadi said: “The Astan Quds Manuscript Library has a 500-year history.”

Describing the library as Iran’s largest manuscript center, Hasanabadi said: “What sets this place apart from other libraries is that the books are either written here or donated and endowed to this institution. Generations have donated books here.”

Hasanabadi explained that, according to their records, three generations from the same family have donated books to the library.

He said that the library preserves over 90,000 manuscripts and more than 50,000 lithographic works.

Including works from other sections in the complex, the number of manuscripts exceeds 120,000, and the lithographic works surpass 68,000, Hasanabadi noted.

Hasanabadi explained that the library houses works dating from the end of the first century of the Islamic calendar to the Qajar period (until 1925).

Hasanabadi highlighted that the library contains thousands of copies, sections, and pages of the Quran, making it one of the largest centers of handwritten Qurans in the world.

Underlining that researchers could access the library’s works through its website, he said: “We have more than 20,000 copies of the Quran and sections from the first century of the Islamic calendar until the end of the Qajar period (1925). Including individual Quran pages, this number exceeds 30,000.”

Hasanabadi also said that the “Senan Mushaf” in their collection dates back to the 40s and 50s of the Islamic calendar and is known as one of the oldest Quran copies in the world.

While introducing another copy of the Quran in the library, Hasanabadi said: “The world’s oldest complete Quran, believed to be from the years 80 to 110 in the Islamic calendar, is attributed to Hazrat Ali, the fourth Rashidun caliph who ruled from 656 CE to 661.”

“It is in good condition. The two-volume manuscript, written in the Hijazi (Kufic) script, includes a donation inscription on the first page. Its printed version (facsimile) will be introduced soon,” Hasanabadi noted.

He also noted the library contains thousands of works on literature, medicine, pharmacy, and similar fields.

“There are manuscripts from poets and scholars such as Ferdowsi, Hakim Nizami Ganjavi, Razi, Hafez, Saadi Shirazi, Ibn Sina, and poets from the Qajar period,” he added.

Hasanabadi further explained that the library holds works not only on Islam, medicine, and literature but also on other religions.

“For instance, we have very valuable resources on Zoroastrianism, such as the Avesta and Kata. Torah and Bible are also preserved here,” he said.

“After examinations, it is likely that the Torah manuscripts are from the 4th century (Islamic calendar) and are considered among the finest copies in the library,” he added.

Houthis Target Tel Aviv With Five Drones

Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree announced that the group targetted Tel Aviv with five drones at dawn, Thursday. He confirmed the success of the operation, however the Israeli army admited only two drones falling on the city.

As broadcast on Al Masirah Saree said that the Yemeni air force attacked a vital target in occupied Jaffa with a number of drones, stressing the operation achieved its goals by the arrival of the drones without the enemy detecting or shooting them down.

The military spokesman added the Jaffa operation comes within the fifth phase of the “Promised Conquest and Holy Jihad” battle, and stressed the continuation of operations until the aggression on Gaza and Lebanon stops.

The Israeli army said it had detected two drones in Bat Yam, south of Tel Aviv, adding it intercepted one and the second fell in an open area.

In turn, the Israeli media reported that five drones were launched from Yemen at dawn and exploded at low altitude in the airspace over the Tel Aviv area.

The Houthi group announced Wednesday, its missile force targeted the Nevatim base and the Rotem industrial zone in the Negev with missiles.

The group said that the operation was carried out with the “Quds 5” winged missiles that were revealed for the first time, and that the targeting operation was accurate and the missiles reached their targets.

It explained the “Quds 5” missile used in the operation was developed and is capable of hitting any target in occupied Palestine.

In the past few months, the Houthis have carried out several attacks with drones and missiles on Israeli targets, and in July a drone hit a building in Tel Aviv, killing an Israeli according to Al Jazeera.

‘No Victory’: Al-Qassam Rattles Netanyahu in Rafah

Major General Fayez Al-Duwairi said that scenes of the Al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas military wing, in Rafah, south Gaza Strip, spoiled Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s “victory speech” on the 7 October anniversary.

Al-Duwairi explained on Al-Jazeera the scenes of Al-Qassam in the Al-Tanour neighborhood, east of Rafah, represent “an answer to Netanyahu’s arrogance and superiority, which he began to lose on Tuesday evening,” referring to the Iranian attack on Israel and the losses of the Israeli army in southern Lebanon.

He pointed out Netanyahu was preparing a “victory speech on the anniversary of the Al-Aqsa Flood,” but the scenes of targeting Israeli vehicles, including two armored personnel carriers, east of Rafah carried several messages.

The military expert said among those messages was that the Al Qassam Rafah Brigade “is still fighting and has not been dismantled as Israel claims.”

Al Jazeera broadcast exclusive footage of the battles between the Qassam Brigades and the occupation army east of the city of Rafah, which included targeting four military vehicles with “Al-Yassin 105” anti-tank shells.

According to Al-Duwairi, the new scenes are a message to the Israelis that “the resistance is still present after a year despite all the massacres and atrocities committed by the occupation army.” He woundered: “If this is the case in besieged Gaza, what will be the situation on the northern front?”

The video, according to the military expert, carried a message to Hezbollah that: “You have eight times more manpower than Qassam, and nine times more military hardware than Qassam, so how long can you hold out after the resistance in Gaza held out for a year?”

The Qassam Brigades in Gaza have been documenting their operations against the occupation army forces and their vehicles on various combat fronts since the start of the Israeli ground operation on 27 October, 2023, and many details about the operations carried out against the occupation forces appeared in the video clips.

It also set up successful ambushes against the occupation army, inflicting heavy human losses on it, in addition to destroying and damaging hundreds of Israeli military vehicles.
